That means he uses people, places, things and events to communicate to us. When he calls a man to be a priest he may speak through a half of dozen people to "call" the man. This weekend God is using us to single out young men and women to hear a vocation call to serve the church in a special way. We will fill out a card naming someone whom we think has a vocation. I too am part of God's mediation. I will write a letter to those nominated. We will send some vocation information and leave the door open for a response. This simple process has resulted in many vocations that I have personally witnessed. It really works if people work the process. Please nominate someone today. Please let God mediate his voice through us. Sincerely in Christ, Our ill parish members & rela ves: Bill McLellan Our deceased parish members & rela ves: Sara Rose Millon Mike W. Stewardship of Treasure Stewardship of Prayer & Faith Parish and School Holy Hour sponsored by Respect Life St. Vincent de Paul Stewardship of Treasure As our Stewardship of Treasure continues, many of our parishioners have already indicated willingness to increase their weekly offering, making their gift from its substance and not merely one of convenience or from it is surplus. When our parish began this Stewardship of Treasure we recognized that participation would be based on equal sacrifice, not equal giving. We cannot ask everyone to consider the same level of support, but we ask that every family let their offering reflect how generous God has been to them with His gifts. Please remember to use your special commitment card to indicate your response to our Stewardship of Treasure. Thursday, November 8th Babysi ng Drop-off 3:45 Adora on from 4:00 to 5:00 You are invited to share an hour in the presence of the Lord to receive his many graces. We expose the Blessed Sacrament and experience silence with a little light music at the opening and closing. The Sacrament of reconciliation will be available along with childcare provided in the childcare drop off begins at 3:45pm. Our Holy Hours will meet on the following Thursdays: Nov 15 Dec 6 Nov 29 Dec 13 Please plan on taking a few moments of your time to reflect on your many blessings! For further information, contact our parish office at 303-744-6119. Prayers of the Faithful In thanksgiving to all who have responded to our Stewardship of Treasure, that their generosity may be rewarded with the growth, love, and joy that giving generously brings... We pray to the Lord.. That through Stewardship of Treasure, we may recognize our call to share God s gi s with others as a sign of our faith... We pray to the Lord. Tuesday Rosary with Eucharis c Adora on Tuesday, November 6th 8:30 to 9:30 Please join in praying the Rosary with Eucharistic Adoration after the 8:00 am Mass each Tuesday. We begin our prayer at 8:30 am. Feel free to invite others to come and enjoy the healing touch of our Blessed Mother. That we may con nue to journey with God with faith and gra tude... We pray to the Lord. Annual Seminaries Appeal This weekend, all Catholics of our archdiocese are being asked to support the Annual Seminaries Appeal. Your gift will serve as a genuine act of gratitude for today's priests, while also encouraging our seminarians in their daily growth to the preisthood. Please visit sjvrm.org to donate today. Thank you. Give Them Light and Peace God, who gives life to all who believe, you dwell in unapproachable light, yet your mercy leads those who hope in you to a place in your presence before your throne. Grant light and peace to our brothers and sisters who have gone before us marked with the sign of faith and who have trusted in your never-ending love. Bring the faithful departed into your kingdom of light, happiness, and peace. Give them a secure dwelling place in the mansion of your holiness, and let them shine with the light of your glory. Eternal rest grant to them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. Amen. 3

Catholic Events Resources 31st Sunday in Ordinary Time Well, we ve celebrated the saints, and all this month we remember all the souls who have gone to God. In just a breath or two we ll be headlong into Advent-blessed Advent-and then glorious, trumpet-sounding Christmas. And so, before it all gets away, let s just breathe. We ve been immersed in Mark s gospel all these months. How has it changed us? Every three years we are in the grip of the most urgent of the gospels, written during a time of terrifying torture and death for those who followed the WAY. Surely if there is any Old Testament passage that captures the passion of Mark it s the one that Jesus quotes from Deuteronomy today. He begs us to love the Lord with our whole heart and soul and mind and strength. I love remembering the giants we celebrated all last month. Has anyone in history loved God with more heart than St. Francis of Assisi? Are there any martyrs who gave their soul and mind to Jesus more than St. Ignatius of Antioch? But it s St. Teresa of Avila who is in my heart today. It s so touching how much the young people of Avila love her. We call Thérèse of Lisieux the Little Flower, they ll tell you proudly. But ours is Teresa of the Big Flower. One day in the monastery she encountered a beautiful young boy. Who are you? he asked. I am Teresa of the Child Jesus. Who are you? His reply always brings tears to my eyes: I am the Child Jesus of Teresa. That s what it means to love Jesus with our whole strength. Insert your name there. One day Jesus will call you by your true name. How does loving Jesus make you stronger? Kathy McGovern 2018 www.thestoryandyou.com 6
