From the Deacon s Desk Often times when we hear today s scripture we can think that it s all about giving until it hurts. I would rather like to think that what we re really looking at is the question, Can I trust? The widow who put just a few cents into the treasury box, needed to trust that her needs would be met, or that the income would be replaced somehow. Just like the widow from the Old Testament who trusted what Elijah said to her. She was able to live off of just a small bit of flour and oil for a year. It s also more than just our finances. Can we trust our big life decisions to God? Can we trust that if we give it away, He will fill it up again?
