Leadership: to stand before 2. Shepherding: to care for a flock 3. Teaching: to instruct 4. Be at peace among yourselves. B. Gifts that Join and Support God s Working 1. Apostleship: one who is sent with a commission. 2. Intercession: to plead on behalf of someone 3. Evangelism: to bring good news 4. Faith: to trust, to have confidence 5. Giving: to give part of, to share 6. Administration: to steer a ship 7. Creative Ability: to communicate artistically 8. Knowledge: "word of something known" 9. Discernment: "clear perception of good/evil spirits" 10. C. Gifts that Reveal and Authenticate God s Word and Deeds 1. Miracles: to do powerful deeds 2. Healings: to heal... like Jesus did 3. Tongues: "families of tongues" 4. Interpretation: "interpreting tongues" Hebrews 2:3-4 3 [H]ow can we escape if we neglect so great a salvation? It was declared at first through the Lord, and it was attested to us by those who heard him, 4 while God added his testimony by signs and wonders and various miracles, and by gifts of the Holy Spirit, distributed according to his will. D. Gifts that Share & Demonstrate God's Care and Compassion 1. Mercy: to have compassion 2. Encouragement: to come alongside 3. Hospitality: to love strangers 4. Service: to take the place of someone 1 Thessalonians 5:11 Therefore encourage one another and build up each other, as indeed you are doing. IV. Gifts in Action A. Case Study: Welcome Team Which three gifts do you need most on the team that welcomes the people God invites to Artisan Church each Sunday? B. Awareness & Effectiveness 1. Many times we are not aware of the effects of trying to use our gifts, whether they build up or disrupt the church 2. Naturally think any problem should be solved by your gift 3. Your full enthusiasm is not needed every time you serve C. Two Areas where you ll make an impact for God: 1. Primary Serving Commitment: should be in the area where you are truly gifted. This is where you ll be most fruitful and fulfilled 2. Secondary Serving Tasks: other areas you re needed simply as a servant; such as short-term projects or shared responsibilities D.
