Because many people are baptized as infants, they do not remember the experience. If you have pictures or videos from your child s Baptism, share them with him or her this week. Here are some questions you can ask your son or daughter this week about what they learned at Edge: Why is the Sacrament of Baptism so important to our Catholic faith? What happens when you are baptized? How can we as a family celebrate our Baptisms? Life Teen Grades 9-12 This week at Life Night, in conjunction with the Jubilee Year of Mercy, we will begin our semester discussing forgiveness and mercy. The goal of this evening is to help our teens understand and receive the restoring power of Christ s forgiveness and mercy in their lives. We will also talk about the need to extend mercy and forgiveness to others. Forgiveness is part of the Christian life, and was modeled so perfectly by Jesus when, as He was being crucified, he forgave those who nailed Him to the cross. Forgive them, Father, for they know not what they do. Luke 23:34 Here are some ideas you may want to share with your teen this week: Take a moment to remember a time in the past year when you were forgiven. How did that feel? Think of a time when you have forgiven someone else. What was the story? How did it feel? How does sin separate us from God? Jesus sees us in our sin and has mercy on us. What does this mean to you?

World Youth Day Cross In summer 2002, St. John Paul II gathered with the youth of the world in Toronto for World Youth Day. Approximately 300 participants from the Diocese of Buffalo were part of the over one million people that gathered to celebrate World Youth Day. At that gathering the participants from the Diocese of Buffalo signed a wooden cross that was used for the Stations of the Cross prayed with Bishop Mansell. In 2016, the youth of the world have been invited to join Pope Francis in Krakow, Poland for World Youth Day. Approximately 170 participants from the Diocese of Buffalo will travel to Poland. Many of them have already signed the outer edges of the Diocese of Buffalo World Youth Day Cross. The cross is at our parish for the next several weeks and will travel throughout the Diocese in preparation for WYD in Krakow 2016. Please pray for those who will be making the World Youth Day pilgrimage in summer 2016. Also, if you or someone you know attended the Toronto WYD 2002 look for their name and pray that the spirit of WYD will renew their faith. Merry Christmas from Love Bugs! All the children at Love Bugs Preschool have been busy little elves preparing for Christmas. They've worked on their scissor skills cutting out many different decorations, they made special gifts, and participated in many large and small group Christmas activities just to name a few! Here are the children from the Playgroup class next to a beautiful Christmas tree that they painted together! Merry Christmas!! Pictured below is Father James reading our Pre- K class a book about the first Christmas.
