Christ is alive! Let Christians sing. 3. In every insult, rift, and war The cross stands empty to the sky. where color, scorn or wealth divide, Let streets and homes with praises ring. Christ suffers still, yet loves the more, Love, drowned in death, shall never die. and lives, where even hope has died. 2. Christ is alive! No longer bound 4. Women and men, in age and youth, to distant years in Palestine, can feel the Spirit, hear the call, but saving, healing, here and now, and find the way, the life, the truth, and touching every place and time. revealed in Jesus, freed for all. 5. Christ is alive, and comes to bring good news to this and every age, till earth and sky and ocean ring with joy, with justice, love, and praise. [Brian Wren 1968: Tune: Truro-LM] PRAYER OF ADORATION & THANKSGIVING RESPONSIVE READING - Leader: Why do you look for the living among the dead? People: He is not here, but has risen. Leader: Christ is risen! People: He is risen indeed! Leader: And if Christ is risen.. he cannot be kept consistently entombed in architecture, liturgy or tradition, but moves mysteriously from synagogue to seashore and village to village. People: and we must seek Him always afresh.

Leader: Christ is risen! People: He is risen indeed! Leader: And if Christ is risen He cannot be recast as a respecter of hypocrisies He despised, but still weaves word-whips to cleanse His Father s house, People: and we must invite this judgement. Leader: Christ is risen! People: He is risen indeed! Leader: And if Christ is risen he cannot be kept from quarantined peoples whose skin or sin excludes them, but shows up at all the wrong parties and eats with uncertified guests, People: and we must join these feasts. Leader: Christ is risen! People: He is risen indeed! Leader: And if Christ is risen our world is ever unmade and ever making anew, ALL: and we must not embalm a shrine, but must always seek a Person. SONGS OF WORSHIP A. REF: O praise ye the Lord! O praise ye the Lord! Praise God in His sanctuary, O praise ye the Lord. In the firmament of his power: praise Him! For his mighty acts let us praise him! For his excellent greatness: praise Him! O praise ye the Lord! With the sound of the trumpet: praise Him! With the psaltery and harp, O praise Him! With the dance and the timbrel: praise Him! O praise ye the Lord! With stringed instruments let us praise Him! And with organs, O let us praise Him! With the high and loud cymbals: praise him! O praise ye the Lord. Let everything that hath breath: let everything that hath breath Praise the Lord! [Noel Dexter] B. You are Lord, You are Lord TESTIMONY [Evangelism Month] DEDICATION OF BABY [Sung Prayerfully] Show me Your ways that I may walk with You Show me Your ways; I put my hope in You [Brief Period of Silence] The cry of my heart is to love You more To live with the touch of Your hand. Stronger each day; show me Your ways PRAYER OF CONFESSION [Leader] PRAYER OF INTERCESSION [ALL] Lord Jesus Christ, we come to you with a deep sense of gratitude, care, concern, devotion, love for you, and desire to live responsively to you. We sense that we re with friends in your company of followers friends who share the life of resurrection and want others to get in on it, notice it, and begin participating at the center of what you re doing rather than on the periphery. We pray for strength and discernment to understand the culture we are in the deadening effects, the seductive lures. We ask for your blessing on your church scattered and dispersed and so much of it in despair. We pray that wherever we are and whatever places we go back into whether it s pew or pulpit we may be part of this resurrection life, knowing that you are present and doing your work. You re not anxious about what is going to happen or whether this is going to work or not. It s worked a long, long time and will continue working. Mostly, keep us faithful, attentive, adorational, sacrificial and personal. In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen [Response] What a mighty God we serve! HYMN OF MEDITATION No. 2-1.Thine is the glory, risen, conquering Son; endless is the victory, thou o'er death hast won; angels in bright raiment rolled the stone away, kept the folded grave clothes where thy body lay. Thine is the glory Refrain: Thine be the glory, risen conquering Son, Endless is the vict'ry, thou o'er death hast won. 2. Lo! Jesus meets us, risen from the tomb; Lovingly he greets us, scatters fear and gloom; let His Church with gladness, hymns of triumph sing; for her Lord now liveth, death hath lost its sting. Refrain No more we doubt thee, glorious Prince of life; life is naught without thee; aid us in our strife; make us more than conquerors, through thy deathless love: bring us safe through Jordan to thy home above.
