The ragic decay, indeed aposasy, of he mainline Presbyerian, Mehodis, Luheran and Episcopal churches, as well as heir insiuions and colleges, can all be raced back o decisions made, even a he local church level, o elec cerain individuals o office who were no called by God and were no qualified according o Scripure. Nice, respecable persons hey likely were bu no men and women of God who loved His word and could wisely lead a flock oward he Grea Shepherd. Movemen oward aposasy is generally very slow. I is incremenal. Bu he realiy of i should encourage us o prayerfully and cauiously go abou he ask of finding leaders among us o guide our church. The hough ha Norh Park Church in 2050 would capiulae o he spiri of he age and abandon he gospel is grealy disurbing o me. Bu, so many formerly fine churches have experienced ha kind of downward spiral. The Lord warns us agains ha very hing in he ancien bu living word. MINISTRY HIGHLIGHTS God is working in Bangladesh BY CHRIS CIRUCCI Earlier his year I had he privilege of voluneering for a monh a Memorial Chrisian Hospial in Bangladesh. Bangladesh is a poor, overcrowded, Muslim counry, a place where he needs far ouweigh he means o provide for hem. Serving in Bangladesh is hard. The counry is diry and overcrowded. The people who come o he hospial are ofen very sick, and he resources o care for hem are limied. The work is never easy in Bangladesh, bu I had grea joy in serving here. The joy was no in wha I could do in his poor place, bu wha God is doing. God is working in Bangladesh. I can be hard o serve in a Muslim counry. There are resricions on sharing he good news; ye God is no o be resriced. When a 13 year old girl came in hemorrhaging from her mensrual period and spen a week wih us as we ried o conrol and diagnose her bleeding, she and her moher had many chances o hear he ruh waching he Jesus film, alking o our local workers, reading books. The good news was planed. God is working in Bangladesh. I can be hard o provide medical care in a low resource counry. Many imes I fel inadequae for he work before me. I was honored o use my skills, bu humbled because ofen my skills were no enough. People are really sick. The surgeries are hard. There are no consulans o call on for inpu. Babies die. Bu somehow in he mids of his here is joy. There is opporuniy o show he love of Chris. There is he chance o realize ha I am jus a ool, an empy vessel. Wihou Chris I am nohing. Someimes people who shouldn ge beer do ge beer. Someimes people who come o he hospial for physical needs find he Provision for heir grea spiriual need. God is working in Bangladesh. In some ways he erroris even of las year has resuled in furher resricions in he work of he gospel. When five of us wen o visi he children in he Chiagong Hill racs, we were escored by eigh policemen, a direc resul of las year s ragedy. Supposedly hey were here o proec us, bu being escored by he police mean resricions on our work and words and minisry. We had o ac like ouriss since ha was he only reason we were allowed o even visi he area. Ye God is working. Hundreds of poor children live in he hosels and receive educaion and Bible eaching. God is no o be resriced. One foreign worker shared how a village had resised having anyone come and preach prior o he evens of las year. Afer he erroris aack, hey said Please come. God is no o be resriced. God is working in Bangladesh. Many of you prayed for me during my ime in Bangladesh, and for his I am so very hankful. Please coninue o pray for he people of Bangladesh. They desperaely need Jesus. Five imes a day he Muslim call o prayer is broadcas from he minares, bu he ruh of Jesus is going forh as well, no via a loudspeaker five imes a day, bu in he hears of people. In one of he poores and overcrowded counries in he world, God is working. I can be hard o serve in a dangerous counry. In July 2016 erroriss bombed a café in he capial ciy of Dhaka, Bangladesh. No longer is his small counry off he radar. 6

Alogeher we raised $4,770, which will allow hem o coninue he blanke projec for he res of he 2016-2017 winer season! Here is a noe from Kelly regarding he impac of his minisry on he refugees: "Dear Friends, Thank you so much for your generous conribuions o our work wih he Blanke Projec. I waned o share a few shor sories o give you an idea of he personal impac we are seeing on some of he ladies we work wih. A one of our group meeings, one of he ladies kep smiling and finally said, "Haven' you noiced my new coa?" We said, "Wow, yes, ha's very nice." (I was an old coa ha she had bough a a second-hand sore for abou $5.) She hen explained o us ha when hey fled he war four years before, i had been summer and so she had no coa wih her. And every year, as any moher does, she saw o her children's needs firs. Because of he blanke projec and he money she earned, his was he firs year ha she had $5 o buy herself an old coa. And she wore ha old coa wih such pride and digniy. Anoher lady bough herself and a daugher a woodsove o hea heir room. And ye anoher, sa quiely crying while she worked her yarn and old me ha wihou he work, wihou "he wool in her hands" she would spend all her ime hinking abou her children's fuure, abou he hings she had seen, abou loved ones who had died, abou her own aches and pains. She said ha wih "he wool in her hands" she could sop hinking abou all ha for a while. You all have been a big par of his. Your conribuions will cover more han a monh of our program. In addiion, o helping o mee he needs of hese ladies, you are helping o give us he opporuniy o mee wih hem, o know and love hem, o share wih hem and o pray. I can definiely say ha his projec has been as much a blessing o hose of us working i, as i has been o he women involved. Again, I hank you." On behalf of he missions commiee, we are hankful for your generosiy, which has allowed us as a church o coninue making an Impac. These donaions have offered boh a angible, physical need and given hem an opporuniy o share he life-changing message of Jesus. 7

VBS 2017: Galacic Sarveyors Regisraion for Galacic Sarveyors is OPEN! CHANGES TO EXPECT THIS YEAR FOR VBS 2017: All campers and heir families are now eligible for a family maximum of $100 when regisering. The cos of VBS should no become resricive for larger families, and i is our hope ha his change will be a blessing o our congregaion and he guess we choose o invie. In order o more fully make use of our Lifeway curriculum in he morning, we ll be adding a craf/recreaion roaion hree days of recreaion and wo days of craf, in addiion o Bible, Mission and Squad Time. We will be underaking los of general cleanup, some small repair projecs, paining, updaing appliances, and oher various minor improvemens. All of hese smaller projecs will add up o one big beauiful kichen in which o work. A clean, more useful kichen for our church body and congregaional evens will enhance and suppor our curren minisries such as: Monhly Compass Minisry dinners Women's Connecion evens, including he Chrismas Tea Vacaion Bible School Luncheon I will also benefi oher groups such as Communiy Bible Sudy and Blackburn Sudy Cener and i will provide fuure opporuniies for us o use and enjoy our kichen. Our exising kichen provides grea srucure and will be he foundaion upon which we creae our Kichen 2.0 version. For many years, our kichen has seen a lo of use, and now i is ime for i o receive some much needed ender loving care. This will be done in phases, he firs of which is general cleaning. We need o remove he buil-up dir, grime and kichen grease from our sinks, couners, cabines (inside and ou), walls, floors, and appliances. This requires los of elbow grease and we are couning on you. On Friday, we will wash all dishes and kichen iems and pu hem in he Blue Room. On Saurday we will ackle he kichen iself. Then he clean iems and dishes will be reurned for more organized, user-friendly access. Please join us. Remember o bring your gloves, your favorie bucke and scrub brush, and 5-10 of your closes friends! We will also have cleaning supplies on hand. Wih offices in Moon Township and manufacuring operaions in Oil Ciy, Windurance designs and builds servo elecric blade pich acuaor componens and sysems used on uiliy scale and communiy scale wind urbines. These involve real-ime embedded compuer conrols and power conversion elecronics for servo mechanism conrol. They have boh aended muliple universiies and colleges and would enjoy elling you abou hem.
