Music ministers give of their talent and time to support the assembly in its worship. Don t waste another year thinking: I really should do something. Just do it! JOIN NOW! Choir (open to teen through adult) The choir serves the parish as music ministers for primarily the 10:00a.m. Sunday Mass as well as special liturgies such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter. The choral group supports and enhances the assembly s song and sings in a variety of musical styles. Rehearsals are held in Corpus Christi Hall on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 8:30p.m. Join us for some music and fellowship! Contemporary Group (welcomes all ages) The Contemporary Group serves the parish as music ministers once a month at the 4:00p.m. Saturday Mass. A variety of styles of music are sung with a more updated sound combining several instruments and singers. We are seeking an additional bass player, guitarist, and string or woodwind player. Around the Diocese and Parish Neighborhood THANKS TO ALL WHO HAVE HELPED US HELP OTHERS Today we have the Society s Truck on our parking lot to collect all your clothing and household goods you are offering to help us help others. Last week we had a wonderful celebration for all Military Veterans and their families of the area. That activity was supported exclusively with funds provided by our Members and other supporters that gave their donations exclusively for that event. We had a wonderful time offering great music, dancing, and comedic entertainment for all the attendees together with an overabundance of food, food, and more food. Our special backers offered an array of attendance gifts to raffle off to the Veterans and their families. Our only regret is that our guest numbers did not rise enough to consume all the great food we prepared for this event. So the local Police and Fire Departments were given trays and trays of chicken, salads, pasta, and desserts which they recognized as manna from heaven as they prepared for extra duty and overtime work to protect the polling places of last week s elections. Thus this benefit served all our uniformed servicemen. Now our parish SVDP Conference returns full time to serving the poor and disadvantaged of our community and to plan more service programs needed as we move forward to winter weather and the holidays/holydays at year s end. Our SVDP Diocesan Council is effecting changes and coordinated planning for both the short term individual assistance programs as well as our long term goals of keeping personal and family poverty tempered with services and Christian help to our brothers and sisters in need. Above all we ask for your continual support of your treasures, time, and talents and especially your prayers that are targeted to help us help others. Holy Ghost C.C.W. Holiday Bazaar On November 11 th the Holy Ghost Council of Catholic Women present their Holiday Bazaar in Ryan Hall from 9 AM to 2 PM. This is a free event. Come and check out our vendors and crafters! We will have raffles and lunch items for purchase. Visit with Mr. and Mrs. Santa. Come and join the fun at Holy Ghost Church, 254 N. Wood Dale Road., Wood Dale, IL. PADS Needs Help! There is a group of Christ the King parishioners who donate their time and talents to support DuPage PADS by volunteering once every month to provide food and shelter to the homeless at the nearby Etz Chaim Temple on Highland Avenue. On the third Sunday of every month, we gather at 5:30 PM to prepare dinner, set up sleeping areas, serve, and clean-up. We then cover two-person supervisory shifts through the night, until early Monday morning when another team arrives to prepare breakfast, serve, and clean and pack up again. This team of individuals is caring, diligent, and dedicated and we don t know what we would do without them. In order to help spread the workload, we are now in need of a few more volunteers. If anyone is interested in donating a few hours of their time once a month to serve this worthwhile cause, please let us know. We are especially in need of a few volunteers to help us cover some of the overnight shifts, including 11 PM 3 AM, even if it s not every month, but to be a back-up on an as-needed basis. If you have any questions or would like to help, please email Jarrod or Martha Cebulski at casadecebulski@comcast.net. Thank you for considering being a part of this ministry. Taizé Prayer Service Friday, November 16 ~ 7pm Immaculate Conception Church 132 Arthur Street, Elmhurst Come join us for an hour of communal meditative singing, scripture, candle light, silent reflection, and prayers for the world in this ecumenical prayer service. ALL ARE WELCOME! For more information, contact Lisa Grisolia at lisagrisolia@icelmhurst.org. Join the Holy Ghost C.C.W. in Welcoming the Spirit of Life Chorus at their Fall 2018 Concert Jesus Can Change Your Life Sunday, November 11th at 5:00 p.m. Holy Ghost Catholic Church 254 N. Wood Dale Road, Wood Dale, IL There is no charge for the performance, but the chorus will be collecting a free will offering to benefit Military Outreach USA.
