The Caring Closet A Compassionate Ministry of BPC "And the King will say, 'Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me'." Matthew 25:40 The Caring Closet is an important ministry of BPC, created by one of our youth, Reed Swain, in concert with the prison ministry of the Rev. Beth Richeson. It provides a backpack of clothing and other necessities for women who are leaving the prison to begin new lives. Many among us do not realize that these women often leave without anything, and often do not have anything to wear as they leave. Our ministry provides them with both necessary clothing, and the dignity that goes along with many of the simpler things in life. It is a way for us to care for our sisters in the family of Christ. During the month of April, we will be holding a clothing drive to replenish the Caring Closet, and also to gather winter clothing to support the Deacon's clothing drive, usually held in the fall. Throughout the month of April, we would be grateful for donations of both new and gently used clothing and other items. The items we are seeking include: Backpacks New Clothing, including underwear, socks, bras and pajamas New or Gently Used Clothing, including jeans and sweatpants, tee shirts (L and XL), Sweatshirts (L & XL), Fleece jackets, rain coats, vests, winter coats, boots and sneakers And some miscellaneous things...a full shopping list is available in Fellowship Hall. Please drop off your donations on the designated table in Fellowship Hall during the month of April. Of course, we are happy to receive donations throughout the year, but please help us to have a successful clothing drive throughout April! For more information about The Caring Closet, please contact Susan Swain at swaindack@comcast.net. Su n d a y Fl o w e r s Members of the congregation are invited to place flowers on the communion table. The cost is $45 per bouquet that can be taken home or given to a member of the congregation that is ill or the bouquet can be brought in by the person sponsoring that Sunday. Flowers can be in memory of someone, anniversary celebration, birthday, new baby in the family, etc. Please contact Charlene Isham at 603 472 376 or ecisham@comcast.net to sign up.
