Memorize and meditate on the verse of the week for revelation. This comes from hearing from God! Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 2 Timothy 2:15 2. Meditation: A How-To Each lesson requires you to memorize and meditate on a particular scripture weekly. For this portion of the lesson, we will take time to give you the principles of this most important discipline that our Lord instructs us to practice. We have broken meditation into 3 parts. Part 1 is memorization, part 2 is focusing on the context of which the scripture is found in and part 3 is focusing on the actual verse to be meditated. DEFINITION: Meditate means to murmur, in pleasure or in anger. It further means to muse, ponder, speculate, think, study, brood over, and contemplate. It is a concentrated, repeated thinking on specific items of thought. It requires prioritization, intention, and time. Thoughts would be spoken out, murmured and even at times hummed or put with music. Meditation on the word, statues, precepts, commandments and testimonies revealed in scripture has not been suggested by God, but commanded. All of the people used mightily in scripture did so; David and Joshua were good examples: EXAMPLE: take the following scripture and memorize it; Proverbs 4:20 (NKJV) My son, give attention to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. 21A Do not let them depart from your eyes; Proverbs 4:20 (NIV) My son, pay attention to what I say; turn your ear to my words. 21A Do not let them out of your sight, We will firstly focus on your memorization of the scripture by breaking the scripture down into smaller phrases. We then speak it repeatedly until we have mastered each phrase. Then we will write the phrases repeatedly in the same manner. We have provided you two tools to assist in this endeavor; they are the Meditation exercise Tool and a video on meditation found on our website of HTGTTV. To reach the website go to www.gracerefuge.org then click HTGTTV and go to Student tools. LESSON TAKE AWAYS: A. KNOWLEDGE: God s Word is infallible (incapable of failure or error) and it is truth. Meditation causes us to come into the secrets hidden in the Kingdom of God. Knowledge is Information from God on an issue. B. UNDERSTANDING: God s word is LIVING and POWERFUL and He causes it to come to pass (to happen) It is the What and How to do with the information to unravel problems. C. WISDOM: As you meditate God s Word and do it, He will speak or show or manifest His revelation of the issue; and then direct you into how and when with the methods of causing it to manifest in your life and surroundings. It Is the Why, Where & When to use Knowledge and Understanding to resolve issues. Page 2 First Foundational Steps in God Lesson 1 Overview, Meditation Part 1 Memorization 2018
