January 7, 2018 Dear Friends in Christ: Christ is Born! Glorify Him! From the Desk of the Pastor Sunday After Theophany We have a number of items for today s bulletin. First, we are very sad to report that our much loved and greatly esteemed secretary, Ms. Kimberly Holdcroft, has accepted a job offer at Carlynton School District, effective January 8th. While we are glad for her that her extensive background in finance/bookkeeping will be used to the full in her new position, we confess to a sense of loss on our side knowing how rare it is to find a worker who assumes her duties as though she were a family member going about her tasks simply out of a sense of belonging and love. May God bless you, Kim, in the new path laying before you! Second, we also need to report that our devoted gravedigger, Chuck Gibson Jr., died on December 27, 2017 at the age of 56. Chuck was the beloved husband of Colleen, a stepfather and devoted son, a brother and an uncle. Chuck prepared all the graves for Holy Trinity and he was a diligent and most efficient worker, with a wonderful personality. He was buried on Saturday, January 6, 2018 out of St. Germaine Church in Bethel Park. May his memory be eternal! His widowed wife will continue the family business while his associate (Darren Sadler) will continue the graveside work. Third, as of this weekend we are celebrating Our Lord s Theophany, when his identity and mission was revealed in Trinitarian glory in the Jordan River, and as such we invoke that great blessing of the Jordon upon us. God s grace is real and it is given us in unique ways, most especially through Holy Water. Just ask an exorcist! Consistent with this, if you wish divine strength and blessing upon your home, a sure guard against the evil one, then I would ask that you simply call my cell or email me (412-639-1416 or holytrinitycarnegie@gmail.com) and I will gladly come over and bless your home. House blessings will be available until February 1 st. In Christ, Jason, priest and sinner

New Things at Holy Trinity Also, please pray for the soul of Joseph Popivchak who died on December 31, 2017 at the age of 69. He was the beloved husband of the late Kathleen (Quinn) Popivchak, son of the late Theodore and Sophie (Bishop) Popivchak, a brother and an uncle. Joe was a retired teacher from Carlynton High School. Per his wishes, there was no visitation or service. Arrangements were entrusted to Leo J. Henney Funeral Home. May his memory be eternal! The Kitchen Donations have reached $ 26,575 and we would like to thank some anonymous donors for their recent donations. The Kitchen Plaque in honor of and in memory of names are all in and we will be ordering the plaque after January 15 th when the company is back from winter break. From the earliest times, the church has studiously preserve the divinely wise richness of the Old Testament, regarding it as her heritage. The unity of the two Testaments proceeds from the unity of God's plan and his Revelation. The Old Testament prepares for the New, and the New fulfills the Old; the two shed light on each other; both are true Word of God. At first, God chose Israel to receive and carry the truth of Revelation; then, in the New Testament, this truth is received by the Church, which is called the New Israel.
