Trunk or Treat 2018 Another successful year of the Laurens Area Community Youth Group s Trunk or Treat event! Fun was had by all who attended. There were 210 kids who came through the Trunk or Treat! Lots of candy, great costumes & plenty of smiles! Thank you to those who participated and those who donated candy. VFW Veterans Meal Friday, November 9th From 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Laurens United Methodist Church Serving: Roast Beef Sandwich, Baked Beans & Chips Free will donation. Veterans Day Program will be held on Friday, November 9th @ 10:00 A.M. at the Laurens-Marathon School in the old gym. Caring Cards will meet THIS Sunday, November 11th from 2 p.m.-4 p.m. in Fellowship Hall. Please join us for the card-making fun! 2018 CHARGE CONFERENCE BOOKLETS Committee Chairpersons, if you were unable to attend the Charge Conference this year and would like a booklet from the conference you may pick one up from the church library. Administrative Council meeting for the month of November will be held one week early on Wed., Nov. 14th @ 8:15 p.m. There will be NO Men s Bible Study on Friday, November 23, 2018 the day after Thanksgiving. United Methodist Women Bazaar is coming on Saturday, November 17, 2018!! Nuts! We are crazy about nuts! We will be offering for sale at the bazaar the following nuts: pecans, walnuts, cashews, and trail mix!
New at the UMW Bazaar this year: Jumpy Monkey Coffee both whole bean and ground will be sold on November 17th. Flavors available are: Cinnamon Sticky Bun, Good Morning Blend, Highlander Grog and Jingle Joe! Treat yourself! Jumpy Monkey Coffee is distributed out of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa with the sole intent of providing meaningful and purposeful employment to individuals with disabilities. Buy your coffee on the 17th and support both the UMW and this wonderful organization. Bread makers & packagers are needed on Friday, November 16, 2018. There is a sign up sheet in the church narthex. The United Methodist Women s Fall Bazaar is November 17, 2018. Mark your calendar! United Methodist Women Bazaar is coming on Saturday, November 17, 2018! Cookies..Cookies...Cookies galore!! We bake them, you buy them! All shapes, sizes, colors, and flavors of Christmas cookies are needed. Frosted cut-out cookies are the best sellers. Please no chocolate chip cookies or bars for the cookie walk! We request that every member of the UMW bake three dozen cookies. Even if you are not a member of the UMW we would appreciate your help in providing cookies for the cookie walk...including you men pastry chefs! We will need them at the Methodist Church by 8:30 on November 17, 2018! Bazaar Time: Good as New Booth Please bring donations of new or slightly used household items, puzzles, books, toys and etc. NO clothing please. Donations of Christmas items will also be accepted. Battery items should be in workable condition. A table will be set up in the Fellowship Hall. Last date for donations will be November 13th.
The church office will be CLOSED on Thursday, November 22nd (Thanksgiving Day) and Friday, November 23rd. Any items for the Nov. 25th church bulletin and/or Nov. 26th Newsletter will need to be submitted by Wed., Nov. 21st by 9:00 a.m. Thank you for your cooperation. Quarter donations for the month of November will be going towards STEMM to Tanzania, Africa to help feed the children there so please keep those quarters coming!
