Welcome! Fall is a busy time and St. Mark s is a busy place. We are thrilled to be a thriving church with many different studies, events, groups and mission opportunites. There is a place for you and your family to plug in! Sunday Mornings Support Groups Worship is central to the life of St. Mark s. We have different opportunities for worship and study on Sunday Mornings! We hope you can join us! Worship Services 8:30am- Communion Our Communion service takes place in the Sanctuary and is a hymn and scripture based Traditional service that ends with communion every Sunday. 9:45am- Praise and Worship Our Praise and Worship service takes place in the Fellowship Hall. Contemporary Praise music highlights this service. 11:00am- Traditional Our Traditional service takes place in the Sanctuary. Meaningful liturgy and Traditional music highlight this service. SUnday School St. Mark s has three adult Sunday School classes that meet at 9:45am! The Agape class meets in Race Parlor, while the Followers meet in the Conference Room. A class for Differently Abled adults meets at 9:45am in Zumwalt Hall. Check the Kids and Youth sections to find out about their Sunday School times! St. Mark s is host to several support groups that help people during the rough times in life. Most of our Support Groups meet on Tuesday nights at 6:30pm! Divorce care Divorce Care is a support group that exists to help people who are going through, or have gone through, a divorce. This group provides insight into feelings that go along with divorce through an inclusive community. Divorce Care is led by John and Mary Anne Rosenberger on Tuesdays at 6:30pm in Race Parlor, starting September 12. Divorce care for kids Divorce Care for Kids is a support group that helps children work through the feelings of their parents divorce in a safe and understanding environment. Divorce Care for Kids meets on Tuesdays at 6:30pm in Zumwalt Hall, starting September 12. Grief Share Grief Share is a support group that exists for people who are experiencing grief due to a loss or painful experience. This accepting and loving community helps to guide students through their grief. Grief Share meets on Tuesdays at 6:30pm in the Choir Room, starting September 12, and is led by Martha Fernandez.

Bible Studies Growing and learning is a priority at St. Mark s! Led by experienced leaders and teachers, there are several opportunites to plug into a Bible Study group at St. Mark s! Janey Garibay Revival- Adam Hamilton Join a community of women led by Janey Garibay who meet every Wednesday, at 9am in Race Parlor! This semester the group will be studying Revival by Adam Hamilton. This study will begin September 13! LadyBug Roberts David- Beth Moore Join Ladybug Roberts for a Bible Study that will explore David by Beth Moore. This study will begin on September 13 and meets on Wednesdays at 9:30am in the Choir Room! Sharon Owen On Thursday mornings Sharon Owen leads a Bible Study in Race Parlor. This Bible Study begins at 10am, and meets continually throughout the year. This semester they are studying The Genealogy of God. Rose Ayoub Rose Ayoub will lead a Bible Study in the Choir Room at 9am on Thursdays, starting September 14! Childcare is provided! wednesday Night Women There will be a Bible Study on Wednesday nights specifically for Women in Zumwalt Hall at 6:30pm. This study will begin on September 13, and is led by Kristin Karam. Singles There will be a Bible Study on Wednesday nights specifically for singles in the Resource room at 6:30pm. This study will begin on September 13 and is led by Mike Drake. off Site Studies There are opportunities outside of the walls of St. Mark s to study and grow! Take a look at these opportunities connected to St. Mark s! Men at Great American On Thursdays at 11:30am a group of men meet for a lunch Bible Study at Great American Steakburger on Mesa Hills. This group is led by Roger Springstead. Ladybug at Legacy On Mondays at 10am Ladybug Roberts will lead a Bible Study at the Legacy, an Assisted Living Facility located at 6201 Northern Pass Dr. This study is ongoing throughout the year. All are welcome to join!

Young Adults The Young Adults group at St. Mark s is a group of college students and young professionals seeking to grow together! They meet for study and fellowship throughout the year. Wednesday Nights St. Mark s Young Adults meets every Wednesday Night for study and Fellowship at 6:30pm in the Conference Room. Young Adults will begin meeting for the fall on September 13, and will study the Alpha Course, a study that introduces and explores basic questions about Christianity. Connect 3 Connect 3 is a couples group led by Glen and Yvonne Myers. Connect 3 meets on Monday nights in the Choir Room at 6:30pm. Starting on September 11, the group will study Men are like Waffles and Women are like Spaghetti. Sports OPen gym Every Monday St. Mark s Sports ministry runs an Open Gym Basketball night, at 6:30pm, at St. Mark s Middle School. All adults are invited! Fantasy football Fantasy Football is a fun way to be involved in the community through football! Join our league for free! The draft is Sunday, August 27, at 4pm. Contact Noah Smartt in the office to join! Prime Timers St. Mark s Prime Timers is a group for older adults who are in their prime! This group meets on the first Monday of every month at 11:30am in Zumwalt Hall. The group will begin meeting again on October 2! Please contact Ladybug in the church office for more information! Weight Watchers Weight Watchers meets two different times during the week at St. Mark s! On Thursdays Weight Watchers meets at 6:00pm in the Choir Room. On Saturday mornings Weight Watchers meets in the Choir Room at 9am. St. Mark s School St. Mark s School is regarded as one of the best private school educations in El Paso! The school now serves children as young as toddlers and through the 8th grade! St. Mark s Middle School has a separate facility on Charl Ann, by the intersection of Doniphan and Lindbergh. Students at St. Mark s School participate in hands-on learning and enrichment activities that prepare them for the rest of their education and the rest of their life! Director- Jachin Ford Director- Norma Covington Youth St. Mark s Youth Group is also known as N.U.D.G.E, and is a group for 6th through 12th graders that exists to help our youth discover a relationship with Christ! Our youth group is a community that is focused on growth, mission, and ministry through weekly youth programming and special trips! N.U.D.G.E is a fun, safe place for our youth! Sunday School Middle School and High School Youth meet at different times on Sunday morning for Sunday School. High School Sunday School meets at 9:45am and the Mid- High Sunday School meets at 11am! Sunday School is a time of study that dives deep into the bible and issues facing today s youth! Sunday School meets in the Youth Room, in the Walker Annex. Youth Group St. Mark s N.U.D.G.E Youth Group meets every Sunday at 12:30pm! They meet in the Youth room which is located in the Walker Annex, a building directly across the street from the church s front door on Love Road! Youth Group is a fun time of fellowship, study and ministry for all youth 6th through 12th grade! Say what? Say What? is a night of fellowship centered around media, exploring its messages and how those messages can deepen our spiritual lives. Join us for a movie and discussion every Wednesday starting at 6:30pm! Say What? meets in the Youth Room. Kids St. Mark s children s ministry exists to provide a safe place for your child to grow in their walk with Christ! We seek age appropriate ways to teach the Gospel and have children practice ministry for themselves. Mission Kids Wednesdays 6:30-8pm, Starts September 13 All kids grades Kinder-5th are welcome! At Mission Kids, we learn how the Bible calls us to help others. Mission Kids Leaders will lead children in a combination of bible study, learning about needs in our community and around the world, and implementing what we ve learned in small missions throughout our community. Kid s Church In the Walker Annex (across the street) Kindergartners through 5th graders are split between two classrooms for Kid s Church. Sunday School and Kid s Church are available during the 9:45am and 11am services. Kid s Church is a fun and safe place for your kids to worship! Nursery and Sunday School St. Mark s has a Nursery staffed with caring, loving and attentive employees. Nursery is available for babies as young as 6 months through 3 years old during all worship services. Nursery is also available for older children during special events! Every Sunday younger children (3 & 4 year olds) participate in a fun classroom study in Room 10, down the Early Education Hallway.

Missions St. Mark s has mission projects in our community, across the border, and across the world! There are multiple ways to get involved in with spreading the love of Christ through St. Mark s! Mexico Missions The Mexico Missions ministers to Juarez and the surrounding area by providing physical and spiritual help to those in need. St. Mark s Mexico Missions partners with the Casa De Vida y Paz children s home in Juarez, supporting the home financially and with their continual presence. The team takes monthly trips to Mexico to spend time with the children and continue to improve the home. This fall the team will be taking trips on Saturdays September 16, October 21, and November 11. This fall the Mexico Missions team will be holding an Enchilada Dinner Fundraiser on Wednesday, September 20 from 5:00 to 7:30pm. You can dine in or take out! A dinner costs $9 for an adult and $6 for a child! HUngary Missions Hungary Missions is a partnership between St. Mark s and the United Methodist Church in Hungary, specifically the congregations of Obuda, Dombovar, and Kisvaszar. The Hungary Mission Team travels to Hungary for two weeks every summer to work with the Hungarian Methodist Church, running an English Camp for youth in Budapest and doing ministry in the Roma village of Kisvaszar. The team will be traveling to Hungary in 2018 from June 14 through July 2. Hungary Missions will be fundraising for the 2018 trip by sponsoring a Fall Bazaar and Pumpkin Patch on October 6th and 7th! We hope you can join us! Christmas BAskets Every December, St. Mark s gives over 150 baskets filled with much needed supplies for the winter months to families around the borderland. The Christmas Baskets project depends on donations from the church community! If you would like to donate please contact the church office. We are also in need of volunteers to put together and distribute the baskets! Christmas Baskets will be assembled on Saturday, December 16.

Special Events This Fall at St. Mark s, there are many special events we would like to invite you to! From special worship services to concerts, there is always something fun going on at St. Mark s! Monthly Worship Once a month St. Mark s will join together for a special time of worship outside of our weekly Sunday morning gatherings. These will take place on every first Saturday at 5:30pm, starting September 2nd until May 5th. The services will be Contemporary with testimonies and communion every month. Please contact Phillip Ortega in the church office with any questions about Monthly Worship! KId s NIght OUt Need a break from your kids? Do your kids need a break from you? Join us for our monthly Kid s Night Out Fundraisers. Once a month volunteers watch your children for $5 a child from 5:30pm to 9pm at St. Mark s! They will have fun watching movies and playing games while you relax or enjoy the company of other parents. Look for dates in the Messenger and the website throughout the fall! Sounds of St. Mark s Sounds of St. Mark s is a concert series that features some of El Paso s best and brightest musicians! These free concerts are held once a month on a Sunday afternoon, at 3pm! They are always free and always fun! Look for dates in the Messenger and the website throughout the fall! Church potluck On September 10, after the 11am worship service we will be having a church potluck! Bring your favorite covered dish to share and join with us for a great time of community! St. Mark s will provide the drinks! We would love to see you there! Enchilada Dinner The Mexico Missions team will be having their annual Enchilada Dinner Fundraiser on Wednesday, September 20th from 5pm-7:30pm! This is a great opportunity to support the work of the Mexico Missions team while fellowshipping with our church community! Tickets are $9 for adults and $6 for kids! You can dine in, or if you re busy, take out! Tickets will be sold the Sundays of September 9 and 16! Fall Bazaar Hungary Missions will be sponsoring a Fall Bazaar and Pumpkin Patch October 6 and 7! The Pumpkin Patch will be held on October 6, after the half day of school, starting at 11:30am! The Bazaar will be held the following day, October 7 in Fellowship Hall! All proceeds from these events will go directly to the 2018 mission trip to Hungary. Trunk or treat Join us on October 31 from 6-8pm for Trunk or Treat! Trunk or Treat is a fun fall event for all ages, featuring: Jumping balloons, costume and trunk decorating contests, games & crafts, trunk-or-treating, and more! Volunteers are welcome to help distribute candy and monitor children s play areas at this event. JAzz Band Concert The Jazz Unlimited big band will be having its annual Christmas concert on Sunday, December 3, at 7pm! This free concert is a fun way to usher in the holiday season! The band is comprised of some of El Paso s most talented Jazz musicians. You won t want to miss it!
