Today we welcome Rev. Roger Voskiul in leading our worship. Roger is a retired pastor living in Sioux Center. He works part time at Memorial Funeral Home of Sioux Center. He enjoys going out to do pulpit supply at vacant churches and other churches in the area. His wife, Kathy and he, have 3 daughters living in Northwest Iowa, and 10 grandchildren. Next Sunday, the church will be blessed with the leadership of Merlyn Sandbulte who will lead our worship. Operation Christmas Child! We hope you are having fun filling your Christmas Box(es)! We will be collecting the filled boxes next Sunday, November 11 th, during the Children s message of worship. You may bring your filled box back any time before that date and leave it in the front of the sanctuary. God bless you and this wonderful ministry! Ladies Night Out! It s about time for another fun evening for the women of Boyden First! The selected date is Thursday, Nov. 15 th. ANNOUNCEMENTS Hey Kids!! We are excited to share that the Christmas Program practice is starting in November! We will be meeting on Wednesday nights starting Wednesday, November 28 th at 6:30 pm while Awana is on holiday break. Hope to see you there! Veteran s Day Program! You are invited to attend the Veteran s Day Program on Monday, November 12 th at 7 pm at the Demco Community Center. The program includes a special speaker, special music, the Boy s State Speech and a pinning ceremony of Vietnam Veterans. Refreshments will be served after the program. Mark your calendars! Make plans to come to the Boyden Public Library on Monday, November 12 for our annual holiday program with decorating ideas by Sarah Van Meeteren. This event starts at 5:30 pm and refreshments will be served. Call a friend and make plans to attend this special event. Habitat Stud Finder Event: Join us for the Siouxland Habitat Stud Finder Event on Friday, Nov. 9. from 4-6pm at 1713 6th St. in Hull. A special time of Prayer & Thanksgiving will be held at 5:15pm! Meet the partner family, tour the home in the construction phase, witness the artistic talent of community businesses, individuals and churches that sponsored a stud and enjoy delicious cupcakes! The SHARE group for widows and widowers will meet on Thursday, November 15th at noon at Homestead Commons in Hull. Please note the change in time from our normal schedule as we will meet for noon lunch through the winter months. Please bring your favorite Thanksgiving dish to share. Love INC is excited to pursue a Parenting Curriculum for January 2019! We are seeking individuals or couples that would be interested in facilitating the class. Exciting upcoming events at Boyden First Reformed! TODAY Communication Sunday - This will be held following worship in the fellowship basement. The different committees of the church will share what they are planning and doing for the future of our church. The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe will be shown tonight at 6 pm in the fellowship basement. Our Advent series will be about this story and how it shares the messages of Jesus. Next Sunday, November 11 th Operation Christmas Child Boxes are due! Harvest Festival - It will be held here at Boyden First at 7 pm. The guest speaker is Dr. Mead from Northwestern. Thursday, November 15 th Ladies Night Out meet at the church at 6 pm to gather together and travel to 88 Chinese Restaurant in Orange City Sunday, November 18 th Congregational Meeting - The purpose of this meeting is to lift the next group of leaders of First Reformed Church and consider and pass the budget for the church. Everyone is welcome but only members vote. Wednesay November 21 s Service of Thanks - Beginning at 6:15 pm with fellowship and a soup supper. Please bring a soup and/or salad to share. Bread and crackers, beverages and ice cream will be provided along with table service. Thanksgiving worship will be at 7:00 pm in the fellowship basement. 5
