A Shepherd s Look at the 2 rd Psalm Pt. VI.1.14 Psalm 2: (KJV) He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Psalm 2: (HCSB) He renews my life; He leads me along the right paths for His name s sake. Psalm 2:2 (TLB) He helps me do what honors him the most. The leading knows where they are 1 going. Sheep. 2 People, like sheep, left to their own choices without conscientious supervision, are naturally inclined to, leading to poor choices and. 4 If the shepherd is not attentive to the of his, the of his and the impact both have on his, 7 all three will be lost. Sheperding is not for the, 8 the selfish, self- absorbed or the. 9 Isaiah 24:4- (NCV) 4 The earth will dry up and die; the world will grow weak and die; the great leaders in this land will become weak. The people of the earth have ruined it, because they do not follow God s teachings or obey God s laws or keep their agreement with God that was to last forever. The Shepherd is always checking to be sure the between 11 and is acceptable. As soon as the Shepherd determines that 1 for both the sheep and the land are nor being met, He. 14 The way we 1 and 1 the things the Shepherd provides is 17 to how often He moves us. Isaiah : (HCSB) We all went astray like sheep; we all have turned to our own way; and the LORD has punished Him for the iniquity of us all. Jeremiah 18:11- (HCSB)

11 So now, say to the men of Judah and to the residents of Jerusalem: This is what the LORD says: I am about to bring harm to you and make plans against you. Turn now, each from your evil way, and correct your ways and your deeds. But they will say, It s hopeless. We will continue to follow our plans, and each of us will continue to act according to the stubbornness of his evil heart. Proverbs 14: (HCSB) There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death. John 14: (HCSB) Jesus told him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. John : (HCSB) A thief comes only to steal and to kill and to destroy. I have come so that they may have life and have it in abundance. Zephaniah 1:4- (TEV) 4 "I will punish the people of Jerusalem and of all Judah. I will destroy the last trace of the worship of Baal there, and no one will even remember the pagan priests who serve him. I will destroy anyone who goes up on the roof and worships the sun, the moon, and the stars. I will also destroy those who worship me and swear loyalty to me, but then take oaths in the name of the god Molech. I will destroy those who have turned back and no longer follow me, those who do not come to me or ask me to guide them." A, 18 -, 19-20 sheep will become a dried up bag of bones on ruined land. Many 21 just do not want to be. 22 Romans 8:8-9 (HCSB) 8 For I am persuaded that not even death or life, angels or rulers, things present or things to come, hostile powers, 9 height or depth, or any other created thing will have the power to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord! Luke 14:2(GW) 2 If people come to me and are not ready to abandon their fathers, mothers, wives, children, brothers, and sisters, as well as their own lives, they cannot be my disciples. Jesus built the bridge from man to God but 2 alone 24 whether or not you 2 it it s all about how you. 2 There is no. 27 There is no. 28 Jesus said you re either, 29 or. 0

Anything less than complete obedience and submission means there is, 1 only an. 2 Matthew 7:21-2 (TLB) 21 "Not all who sound religious are really godly people. They may refer to me as Lord, but still won t get to heaven. For the decisive question is whether they obey my Father in heaven. 22 At the Judgment many will tell me, Lord, Lord, we told others about you and used your name to cast out demons and to do many other great miracles. 2 But I will reply, You have never been mine. Go away, for your deeds are evil. One is the, the other will just soon someday. 4 #1 Instead of loving myself most, I will love Christ best and others more than myself. John 1:11-1 (HCSB) 11 I have spoken these things to you so that My joy may be in you and your joy may be complete. This is My command: Love one another as I have loved you. 1 No one has greater love than this, that someone would lay down his life for his friends. #2 Instead of being one of the crowd, I am willing to be singled- out, set apart from the group. Luke 21:8-19 (NJB) 8 But he said, Take care not to be deceived, because many will come using my name and saying, I am the one and The time is near at hand. Refuse to join them. 9 And when you hear of wars and revolutions, do not be terrified, for this is something that must happen first, but the end will not come at once.' Then he said to them, Nation will fight against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. 11 There will be great earthquakes and plagues and famines in various places; there will be terrifying events and great signs from heaven. But before all this happens, you will be seized and persecuted; you will be handed over to the synagogues and to imprisonment, and brought before kings and governors for the sake of my name 1 and that will be your opportunity to bear witness. 14 Make up your minds not to prepare your defence, 1 because I myself shall give you an eloquence and a wisdom that none of your opponents will be able to resist or contradict. 1 You will be betrayed even by parents and brothers, relations and friends; and some of you will be put to death. 17 You will be hated universally on account of my name, 18 but not a hair of your head will be lost. 19 Your perseverance will win you your lives. # Instead of insisting on my rights, I am willing to forego them for the benefit of others. #4 Instead of insisting on driving the bus, I am willing to sit in the back with the luggage. # Instead of finding fault with life and always asking, Why? I will choose to accept all circumstances with an attitude of obedient expectation.

If I really believe my affairs are in God s hands because I Him wherever He goes it is to attribute every event (joyous or tragic) as part of His 7 for my life. # Instead of exercising and asserting my will, I will choose to cooperate with His wishes and comply with His will. #7 Instead of insisting on my will, I am willing to follow Christ s way and immediately do what He asks me to do. Psalm 2: (TLB) And when we obey him, every path he guides us on is fragrant with his loving-kindness and his truth. Psalm :17-18 (GW) 17 But from everlasting to everlasting, the LORD'S mercy is on those who fear him. His righteousness belongs to their children and grandchildren, 18 to those who are faithful to his promise, to those who remember to follow his guiding principles. Proverbs :- (HCSB) Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding; think about Him in all your ways, and He will guide you on the right paths. If the Shepherd picks the paths for His sheep, motivated by protecting His reputation, why would we ever think that any path on which we choose to follow Him would lead anywhere but to safety, security and blessing? How could He ever expect us to choose to follow Him, ever again, if he led us to a place where we would end up questioning His leadership skills in the future?? 8 9 follow the shepherd because they have come to 40 on his interest and 41 to their 42 and well- being.
