Celebrate Recovery is collecting blankets for our homeless neighbors. If you d like to help, please bring new or gently used blankets to the Boulder Avenue welcome desk. ARE YOU A ROUTE 66 RUNNER? Every year, the Route 66 Marathon draws thousands of people from across the country and around the world into Tulsa and right through the FUMC campuses. On Saturday, November 17, we'll host our 3rd annual Marinara-thon pasta dinner and special Regeneration service with a "blessing of the shoes." You can be part of welcoming, hosting, and blessing the runners! We re looking for people to serve in these settings: Route 66 Health & Fitness Expo Booth Friday & Saturday, November 16-17 Various time slots available Marinara-thon Pasta Dinner Saturday, November 17 5:00 p.m. Regeneration & Blessing of the Shoes service Saturday, November 17 6:00 p.m. Cheer Blocks at 11th & Main Street or 37th & Peoria Sunday, November 18 8:00-8:30 a.m. and 9:00-11:00 a.m. Registration for all of these volunteer opportunities is now available at fumctulsa. org/marathon. COMMUNITY THANKSGIVING SERVICE Monday, November 19 7:00 p.m. First Baptist Church (403 S Cincinnati) Gather with us as we join others from our community for a Thanksgiving worship service! This annual service, the combined effort of FUMC, Asbury UMC, First Presbyterian, and First Baptist, provides the community with an opportunity to thank God for all he has done in the last year. This year, the service will be held at First Baptist and the message will be given by Rev. Jon Odom. FAMILY CRAFT NIGHT: ADVENT WREATHS Friday, November 30 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thomas Hall Pizza will be served. Please bring a dessert to share. $10 per family (covers pizza and craft supplies) Everyone is invited to kick of the Advent Season with a family craft night. We ll enjoy pizza and dessert and make Advent Wreaths to help us celebrate looking forward to Jesus birth. We ll send you home with instructions of how to use the wreath and candles to count down the four weeks until Christmas! All co-ed adults are invited to join in the fun every Sunday night. Courts for all skill levels are available! This new activity is sponsored by the Builder s Sunday School Class. NEW VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES FUMC Store FUMC has a new merchandise store in the Library Café but we need your help. We have opportunities for volunteers to run the store each Sunday from 9:00-9:45, 10:30-11:15, and 11:45-12:15. A short training is required. Interested? Email Kyle at kylewestfall@ fumctulsa.org. Sunday Social Team If you spend a lot of time trying to get that perfect picture with your phone, join the Sunday Social Team! We re looking for people who can capture great moments on Sunday mornings and at special events that we can share on the FUMC social media pages. Sound like you? Email Kyle at kylewestfall@fumctulsa.org. Weekday Production Team We have a volunteer opportunity for one or two consistent weekday volunteers who can help prep materials for our weekend services. Production usually happens on Thursday mornings and help is needed for one to three hours each week to finish preparing materials and delivering them to their locations. Perennial favorites and new anthems will make this another memorable year of great music and worship to welcome the birth of our King, Jesus Christ, into our world and into our hearts.
