We just had the Halloween party and it was great to see everyone again and meet a few new members. Even some new land owners! Kim did a great job with all the kids games and food. The kids and adults all had a great time as usual, Thank you Kim!! We had quite a few people register during the party and pick up there stickers so they will be ready to ride. If you have not sent in your membership yet be sure to do so before December 1st. We will need some help cleaning and posting signs on the trails again this year and have a trail cleaning date set for November 7th and 8th. We will meet at the Red Barn at 9:00am. If you re not sure were the red barn is there is a map on page two of the newsletter. I can t be there Saturday but plan to be back to help Sunday. Call TJ or myself if you want more information. We are also looking for a new Board member to fill the nominations position. Ed Langdon had to step down due to a new job. Nominations is a very easy position and is a good way to get involved without a large time commitment. Come to one of our board meeting or give me a call if you have interested. See you on the trail soon good luck to all the deer hunters. Terry Eisen On the web! Northsidesnowmobile.com E-mail northsideclub@hotmail.com Also on Facebook Page 1

Snowmobile Trail Permits (taken from the DNR website:) In addition to registration of a snowmobile in Michigan, or from another state or province, a person who desires to operate a snowmobile in this state needs to purchase a snowmobile trail permit sticker. The snowmobile trail permit sticker is valid for 1 year which begins October 1 and ends September 30 of the following year. Snowmobile trail permits are available at the following: Online @ the DNR E-License website-your sticker will be mailed to you within 7-10 days or Through the MSA (Michigan Snowmobile Association) or From DNR Customer Service Centers Or MAPLE MEN 2013 SYRUP Wholesale Price Gallon $42.00 1/2 Gallon $24.00 Quart $13.00 Pint $9.00 1/2 Pint $5.00 LACEY, MICHIGAN Ed Langdon (269) 758-4022 From DNR Hunting and Fishing License Vendors Snowmobiles are exempt from the Trail Permit Sticker if they are: Operated exclusively on lands owned or under the control of the owner, used entirely in a safety education program conducted by a certified snowmobile safety instructor, exclusively operated in a special event of limited duration which is conducted according to a prearranged schedule under a permit from the governmental unit having proper jurisdiction or a snowmobile used solely for transportation on the frozen surface of public waters for the purpose of ice fishing. Publicity/Newsletter We have had a few cold days to give us a taste of the weather to come, hopefully! Although, it looks like the meteorologists are forecasting a warm up for the first part of November. This is not ideal but maybe it will make it easier for those last minute preparations we all need to do before the snow flies. Time is growing short so make sure you check out your sleds and get your memberships in BEFORE Dec 1st for the early bird discount. Membership forms are included in the newsletter and also on the Northside Snowmobile Club Facebook Page. Our website is currently down for the moment but Jason is looking for a new hosting service that is more reasonable in cost. Again if you are Facebook savy and wish to save the club some money in printing and postage, you can choose to opt out a paper copy of the newsletter. Just look for the opt out checkbox on the bottom of the application. If you would prefer to have the newsletter emailed to you just please specify that in the bottom of the application as well. If you still wish to receive your newsletter via the mail, we can still print and mail you a copy. Also remember your state trail permits! The State trail permit is not required by the Northside Snowmobile Club, but is by the DNR. If they catch you without one you will get a ticket. Happy Riding! Jeff Gagnon Newsletter Editor Page 6
