A: As Paul helped to gather wood for a fire, he was bitten by a snake that was in the log he was placing onto the fire. 24. Did the others on the island believe Paul would survive the snake bite? 25. The people were amazed that Paul had survived the snakebite and thought that he must be a god himself and decided to worship him. What did they want to know about him? What did Paul say to the people who questioned him? A: The people thought he should have died from the snakebite. They wanted to know his name and which type of god he was. Paul responded that he was no god. He told them that he knew of only one God who made the heaven, earth, and their island. He also explained that he knew of God s son, Jesus Christ, and that Jesus was the one he served. Paul also told them that he was just a normal person like them.
