Her beauty amazed us. Her passion persuaded us. Her courage convinced us. Her love surrounded us. Her Faith has transcended us. On December 4, 2013, MARGARET MIMS ABRAHAM finished the race that God had set for her to run at the age of 69. Margaret was educated in the Edgefield County School System. She possessed a great love for education and she instilled that quality into each of her children. She taught her children to always dream big and to strive for excellence. Whether dreaming of becoming of a computer engineer, answering a call into the preached ministry or pursuing a career in law, she always encouraged her children that they were destined for greatness. She demonstrated that excellence, especially in her character from the moment she was born, till the time God called her home. Margaret was born December 26, 1943 to George and Mary Lanham Mims. From an early age, she gave her life to the Lord and joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church. During her time of membership at Mt. Zion, she remained a faithful and dedicated member until the Lord led her to join Beulah Grove Baptist Church in 1997 under the leadership of Dr. Sam Davis. While being an active member at Beulah Grove, Margaret's faith soared and she began running her race with even more fervor and conviction. She jumped at every opportunity to serve the Lord in any capacity. She was on fire for the Lord and she didn't mind letting people know. She joined the missionary, clothing bank, Christian education, visionary and prayer ministries and she was the contact person for her tribe when people were in need of prayer. Her smile and quiet demeanor became a calming presence wherever she served. Margaret continued to serve in various ministries at Beulah Grove until her health started to decline. She never doubted God no matter what the doctors would tell her. In the face of death, she remained in faith. Her legacy to her children and to this world is an enduring faith. Her children have many stories they could share of her great faith, but the ultimate testimony is that she not only lived but also died in faith. She taught us faith with each breath, no matter how faint. She still gave God all the Glory and all the praise. So now she can hear God say well done, thou good and faithful servant. She leaves seven devoted children to cherish her sweet memories: Angela Abraham of Alpharetta, GA, Rebecca (Leroy) Simmons of North Augusta, SC, Rev. Elliott (Rosemarie) Abraham of Lilburn, GA, Rev. Pamela Abraham Richards of North Augusta, SC, Attorney Demetrius Tyrone (Karen) Abraham of Grovetown, GA, Rev. Alicia Abraham (Roderick) Plant of Douglasville, GA and Kelsha Shanta Abraham of Alpharetta, GA. In addition, she leaves her best friend and former husband, Rev. Lewis Abraham III; four loving sisters, Martha (Oscar) Robinson of North Augusta, SC, Ruth Etta Mims of Belvedere, SC, Katie (Robert) Brighthop of Belvedere, SC and Bertha Mims of Evans, GA; eight dedicated grandchildren and one expectant great grandchild, Jeremy (Elizabeth) Nipper, Jacksonville, NC, Macaylan (Austin) McNeil of Virginia Beach, VA, Elliott Khalid, Jalen Rashaan, Brianna Amira and Malik Najee Abraham of Lilburn, GA, Makayla Pringle-Abraham of Grovetown, GA, Abrielle Plant of Douglasville, GA; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and sorrowing friends.

Yd like the memory of me, To he a happy one, Yd like to leave an afterglow Of smiles, when life is done. Yd like to leave an echo Whispering softly down the ways, Of happy times and laughing times & bright and sunny days. Yd like the tears of those who grieve, To dry before the sun Of happy memories that I leave behind When life is done. God looked around His garden And found an empty place. He then looked down upon the earth And saw your tired face. He put his arms around you And lifted you to rest. God's garden must be beautiful He always takes the best. He saw the road was getting rough And the hills were hard to climb, So He closed your weary eyelids And whispered "Peace be thine". It broke our hearts to lose you But you didn't go alone, For part of us went with you The day God called you home.
