Thanksgiving is a major holiday that comes without stress and pressure, (except for the cooks!). I hope that your week is lled with many blessed moments of gratitude. If family reunions or gatherings are in your plans, I pray that they be lled with much joy and cherished memories. For those who are travelling to be with family, myself included, safe journey to you at your Thanksgiving tables! We are still in need of lectors, particularly at the Saturday 4 p.m. vigil mass, and volunteers who would help in the ministry of Liturgy of the Word for children at St. Mark during the 9 a.m. mass. Once again, friends, I urge you to consider joining one of these areas of ministry. The need is great, your talents are many. Please??? Ladies of Charity Giving Tree Please consider selecting a tag from our tree. We ask that you return the gift wrapped with the tag on the outside of the gift by Sunday, December 16th. Each of the children selected live below the level of poverty. Many of them have ed their homeland due to famine, war, and violence. They are asked to select one wish. Please call Susie Wischerath with any questions 837-4093. Tuesday, Dec. 4th, is St. Mark night at Frank Hot Dogs. As I mentioned last week, 10% of all sales on that day from 5-8 p.m. will go to St. Mark School. I have been there several times with my staff, and have always had a great meal. Hope to see you there. Next Sunday, we gather at St. Rose for the Fourth Annual Holiday Concert and Ra e. This is a wonderful Sunday evening, lled with many great opportunities to win, not only cash prizes, but something from the vast array of ra e gifts that will be available that night. This year the holiday music will be provided by Route 33. Bring the kids, bring your holiday spirit, and come join the fun! Again, my best wishes to all of you for a blessed and joyful Thanksgiving holiday. You are all at the top of my list for what I am most grateful for. In Christ s love, Fr. Joe Prayer Intentions of Pope Francis for November In the service of peace That the language of love and dialogue may always prevail over the language of conflict. Thanks to your generosity, our parishes received the following disbursements at the end of July: St. Mark $27,968.66, St. Rose $23,371.29. As was previously announced when the initiative began, the funds we earned were to be dedicated for major roof repairs at St. Rose, and the restoration of St. Mark s interior. We are beginning to study interior renovations that can be done at St. Rose. These and future funds will be reserved for this upcoming project, as well as repairs to the HVAC system. At St. Mark, these funds will be used for roof repairs in the rectory and church, and interior painting of the rectory. Again, many thanks for your continued generosity.
