This was Matthew Maturo's Eagle Scout project that was approved by the Deacons. Matthew completed his project on August 25th. If you see Matthew, congratulate him on a job well done. Sr. Adult Christmas Lunch Moving our Youth meetings from Wednesday to Sunday is working well. Obviously we do not have to worry about school schedules on Sunday, but this time allows us to be more intentional with our activities too. Some of you have responded to our request for assistance in feeding the youth on Sundays. We really appreciate your help. It is important for the kids to know that their church supports them and a great way for that to happen is for them to know that you care enough to feed them. Again, thank you. There is something else that we would like to ask, however. We want our Sunday meetings to be more than just study, recreation, and eating. We want to be an active presence in our community. You may know of someone who needs some help with yard work, or light household chores. Let me or Scott know, and we will be glad to offer assistance. Thank you for your continued support and prayers as we minister to our youth, and this community. -Christian Friday, December 7 at 12 Noon in Walker Hall Thank You Thank you so much for your condolences and sweet messages. We will treasure the memories we have of our mother. It means so much to know she touched so many lives. She loved her First Baptist Church family. In Christian Love, Susan Johnson Steve McDaniel It is time to pack your boxes! Please start collecting your school supplies for Operation Christmas child. It will be here before you know it. Collection Date: Sunday, Nov. 11 Please contact Kym McCrary with questions: Kym.McCrary@cherokee.k12.ga.us Happy October! The preschool has had a busy month with many various community helpers coming in to talk with the children, as well as going on a field trip to Dahlonega. Both the children's ministry and the preschool are gearing up for the Fall Festival which will take place on October 31st from 4:30 to 7:00 pm. Last year we served over 600 community members! This year we are planning an evening of games, inflatables, and FREE food, including chili dogs and nachos. We have already begun planning for this event and are excited to provide this for our church and community. We are in need of VOLUNTEERS and DONATIONS including food, individually wrapped candy, cupcakes, hay bales, and western decor. If you are interested in donating, please bring it by the preschool or church office. You can call or email Anna Walker or Cassie Rasco with any questions or if you're interested in volunteering.
