PLEASE REMEMBER MEDICAL MISSIONARY MARIE VICTOR. You will recall the Ms. Victor a former Metro member who was baptized here, spoke here during home furlough last June, and has now returned and is serving in a Philippines outpost. When here she requested financial assistance. She is employed by Laymen Ministries which is an SDA Self-supporting ministry preaching the Gospel and spreading the Three Angels messages in the Philippines and around the world. Laymen Ministries asks all its workers to seek and solicit financial support for her travel, sustenance and organizational operating costs. The 4 th Quarter 2018 special offering for Marie Victor will be received on Sabbath November 10. We ask that this freewill offering be separate from and above Tithe, Church Budget and MAP offerings. Church Treasurer, Miriam Schmidt, asks that this Victor offering be in a separate offering envelope marked VICTOR- PHILIPPINES. (Cash or Check made out to Metro SDA Church. If you are not ready at this time, this can be received anytime during this quarter as Mrs. Schmidt will send the Marie Victor collections to Laymen Ministries at the end of each quarter) You will receive income tax deduction for these gifts on our year end Metro total offerings receipt. Metropolitan SDA Junior Academy Metro Messenger Announcements November 9, 2018 Pizza Day is Wednesday, November 14. Cost is $1.00 per slice and 50 cents for juice. Pizza is the only food item and parents are requested to supplement their students lunch with fruit and/or veggies. An order form is attached to this newsletter and MUST be turned in by the end of the school day, Tuesday, November 13. The Food Store will NOT be open Wednesday, November 14. It will however be open Thursday, November 15 from 2:30 to 3:30. Remember, there is no school the following week and any Thanksgiving food items you plan to use need to be purchased before we go on break. Veterans Day Lunch was held Wednesday, November 7. Guests were treated to a Hot Lunch and a short musical presentation. Students in grades K-6 enthusiastically performed several patriotic songs. Left: K-6 students in red, white & blue top hats sang with gusto for our guests. School Pictures were sent home with students this week. Some of the finished products were less than satisfactory. We have made arrangements with Lifetouch for a Retake Day. If you would like to have your student s photo retaken please return the original packet and we will put them on the list for Monday, December 3rd to have a retake. It s getting to be that time of year when the weatherman uses the s word- - snow! We will continue to use the same qualifier to determine school closings. If either Plymouth-Canton Schools are closed or Northville Schools are closed, we also will be closed. However, we are planning to notify parents on their cell phones with a One Call Now call. We will be doing a test call in the near future. This way if your power is out and TV and internet are not working, you will still receive notification in a timely manner. Right: Veterans from various decades of service joined us for a thank you lunch. Fall Week of Prayer begins Monday, November 12. Pastor Luke Penrod, Associate Pastor at Metro and Farmington Churches will be conducting this series of Chapel sessions. Since these are held first hour in the morning, it is important for students to arrive on time each day.
