Today This morning Rev. Mark VanDyke will continue with part 5 of the Philippians series, Rejoice Always. Christians have frequently fallen into the trap of emphasizing heaven at the expense of earthly ministry, or vice versa. Paul corrects this by saying our desire to know Christ will affect our present and our future. Profession of Faith - Today we gather for a special worship service wherein we will welcome Donna Stanford as a new member to Almond Valley. Please pray that Donna would truly be welcomed and enfolded into our fellowship through the work of the Holy Spirit. Our Children in Worship program is for 3yrs old 2 nd grade children that meets downstairs in the youth ministry center during the morning worship service for age appropriate worship. Today s story is The Ten Best Ways to Live. From the Deacons Today is World Hunger Sunday and we will be collecting the Peter Fish. The Deacons will be counting the Peter Fish offering along with the Thanksgiving Day offering at the end of the month. They will accept them until then. Announcements Communion Next Sunday - Throughout our series on Philippians we have been reminded to "Rejoice Always." When we obey that command by participating in a joyful celebration of Holy Communion, we will find that no matter what is happening in our lives or in the world we have all we need to live well because of Christ's death and resurrection. Spend some time this week examining your heart and preparing to joyfully gather at the Lord's table next Sunday. Family Promise is here again! Beginning the week of 11/18, we have the opportunity to serve several families through this ministry. Sign-ups are on the board. Don't miss the opportunity to give of your time to bless these families. The Lord continues to bless us through the many caring and thoughtful people of this congregation, and hardly a day goes by when we don't thank God in prayer as a family that we can be a part of your lives.
