For new churches or new leaders from veteran churches, please read the Nuts-n- Bolts Workshop Tracks insert for recommended workshops to attend. 7:30-8:15 Registration 8:15 9:45 General Session 10:00-10:50 Workshop Period 1 11:00-11:50 Workshop Period 2 12:00-12:30 Red Lunch 12:00-12:50 Blue Workshop Period 3 12:40-1:30 Red Workshop Period 3 1:00-1:30 Blue Lunch 1:40-2:30 Workshop Period 4 2:40-3:20 Afternoon General Session 3:30-4:20 Workshop Period 5 Our Keynote speaker this year is Ed Gossien - Since becoming Missionaries in 1995, Ed & Kim have ministered in Northern California, Northern Nevada, and Western Oregon, and Texas. They currently oversee the Awana ministry in Texas, Oklahoma, Georgia, and Florida. They enjoyed the privilege of traveling to Germany twice to assist with the Awana ministry there, including starting the first Awana club in former East Germany. Ed & Kim have always had a dream, that every child in their sphere of influence, would be within driving distance of a vibrant Awana ministry. Leading us in worship today is Rev. Steve Bell Steve was raised in a Christian home and trusted Jesus as Savior when he was 10 years old. He attended Tennessee Temple University where he earned a degree in Bible and Psychology. He met his wife, Rebekah there. They have been married for 36 years and have two daughters, Katherine and Jennifer (both married) and have 3 grandchildren. He completed a master's degree at Dallas Baptist University in Counseling Psychology. Steve has served in churches as youth pastor, pastor, teacher, and Awana commander. He served on the Awana Ministry Team in the DFW area for 6 years and has answered the call to become our newest Texas Awana missionary.

OUR SPECIAL THANKS to the staff at Woodland Hills Baptist Church for going out of their way to make us feel welcome here and for all the work they have done to make this conference possible, we are sincerely grateful to you all! Conference Evaluation / Workshop Evaluation Sheets There are two types of evaluation forms we need you to fill out today. Both are inside the conference folder and one is simply called Evaluation Form. Please be sure to include your church name and personal email and other contact information to insure you receive information about Awana events in North East Texas. Please write your email address very plainly. You may turn it in any time at the Awana store table and receive your 2016 conference pin. The second set of evaluation forms are on two special pages and have Please circle the workshop you attended at the top of each tear-off section which lists all the workshops in each period. Please circle the workshop you attend in each period, fill out the form on the back, tear it off and then drop it in the Evaluations box before you leave the classroom. We need you to turn in the evaluation forms EACH workshop period and not wait until the end of the day. These evaluations are very important to us. Each one will be read and any suggestions or comments you make will be considered by your Awana Missionary. We truly value your opinion. Many workshops taught today are a result of someone's suggestion or comment from previous conferences. Tips to get the most out of this Conference 1. Don't bunch up! Spread your leaders out between the various workshops and share what you learn today with each other afterwards. If you have several leaders here today, you could have one person attend most or all of the workshops offered. Think of the wealth of information you will take back to your club! 2. Always have a second choice of workshops in mind in case the room is packed in your first choice. Only a few workshops are offered twice in this year s schedule, so please choose carefully. 3. As soon as possible after the conference, plan a meeting with all your leaders. Let the ones who attended share what they learned with all the others and find some new ideas on how to improve your clubs. Make copies of the handouts you get today and share them with all your leaders. 4. Let your leaders who did not attend know what a great opportunity they missed. Show them the program of all the workshops they could have learned from! Make every effort to have 100% of your leaders here next year. 5. If you see the words Nuts-n-Bolts in a workshop title, you will get the best benefit if you attend all parts of that track of workshops. This includes: Puggles, Sparks,, Commanders, Game Directors, Secretaries, Trek and Journey. These workshops are designed for all-day attendance. Formerly called Basic Training, these workshops are designed for any leaders who have not attended Basic Training in three years or more and for new leaders. 6. In period 5, Awana Missionary Kelvin Gunnells, with the help of others, will be conducting a workshop titled "I want to know how to Answers to the Questions No One Else Answered Today. You can text or email your questions ahead of time to (430) 558-0209 or kelving@awana.org or ask your questions during the workshop. Special Sharing Awana pin for all who donate $50 or more today. If you make a donation of $50 or more today to our ministry we would like to present to you a special Sharing Awana pin for your uniform or name badge. Please just let Kelvin or any of the Yellow Pages know today. Also, if you are making a gift of ANY amount today: when you fill out the information on the donation envelope PLEASE include your church name and email address so that we can know which Awana program you work in and send you a personal thank you. Your email address will not be sold or distributed. Page 2

Nuts-n-Bolts Workshop Tracks Formerly titled "Basic Training" These are designed for new leaders in any church (new or veteran church) and any veteran leaders who have not attended any type of Basic Training or Getting Started workshop in three years or more. See note below for exceptions to this recommendation. For the best training experience, new leaders need to stay with the Nuts-n-Bolts all day. Veteran Leaders may want to come and go and just attend the workshops they need. Many Nuts-n-Bolts workshops span multiple periods, with different information in each session. These are not duplicate sessions. On the full workshop schedule, some of the Nuts-n-Bolts workshops are labeled as Part 1 of 5 but the title is not the same in all 5 periods. This is due to some workshops being intended for more than just one group of leaders at a time. Below is a listing of all the Nuts-n-Bolts tracks, including recommended sessions during the periods that do not have a Nuts-n-Bolts session.
