Isaac s Ideas August is here and it s hot! August is usually recognized as the hottest month of the year here in the Deep South. If it were not for August, we would not enjoy the coming fall season as much the hope of such a wonderful time of the year is what gets us through August. August is kind-of the time when the season changes from one of growing to one of witting-away Plants will, oh so slowly, begin their decline to winter. They will have completed their cycle and begin to reseed for another season. Ole farmers always would say that during August the sap ceased to rise and began to fall! Things begin to die away and become non-existent, without life. Sometimes, we allow ourselves to enter into the spiritual August of our lives. We begin, ever so slowly; to just become spiritually non-existent we elect to allow our lives to become spiritually ineffective. We, usually without realizing it, choose to close our paths of spiritual productiveness; and as a result, we soon become dead to the true desires of God upon our lives! We find ourselves sitting and waiting for things to improve more often than not, for things to return to the way they were at some previous point. We become willing to look to the future, without its possibility of failure affecting us one bit. We often point our proverbial finger at someone or something else, as being at fault. When usually the obvious failure, is that we have allowed ourselves to die spiritually our spiritual life-sap has long been depleting away and we find ourselves empty of life! You know the fact is; that God intended for us and has prepared us for a life of living! He has called us and has preordained us for living! This is true for us as individuals. If God has not called us to live; He would call us home at the very instance we came to accept Jesus Christ as our Savior but no, He leaves us here to live! It is through truly living the Christian life that we are to spread the Gospel to others in need. When we fail to do such, then we are not living; but simply existing! This fact, perhaps on a much grander scale, also exists within the body of Christ the Church! You see, Jesus created the church to live and He said that it will never die. If a certain church fails to live the Gospel; then that particular church will most likely fade away; and at the best, its efforts will become ineffective in the Kingdom of God. Please be reminded that we are called and saved, to LIVE! It is so easy to fail, to accept this divine challenge and assignment recall that we are told to go ; meaning as we go this is just another way of saying that we MUST live! We have fallen far too much into the August of our spirituality, and we are no longer living. This means that we are not being used by God, because we have chosen to die away! I encourage us to LIVE I pray that we will choose to not die away. I am in great hope that we will live again that our spirituality will become active and living. Don t allow spiritual death living is better and much more fun! Love in Christ; Bro. Isaac
Media Center Heart To Heart THOUGHTS.. The ladies group met on Thursday, July 20 th and was inspired by the mission trip that Missy Waldrop and her daughter took to Malaysia. She said that it is a 24 hour trip one way and there are so many lost people in Malaysia. We also discussed maybe trying to purchase a trash disposal to put under the kitchen sink. We are going to get a price to see how much it would cost. Jeanna made the suggestion that we give the kids $10 each to purchase school supplies. August kicks off our Samaritan Shoe Box ministry.
