CG: Welcome Slide ( God s Love Don t Stop) Stop music once all classes are in and on a line. Worship What You Need: Paperclip Memory Verse Card in your Bible at Deuteronomy 10:17. HISTORYTELLER: Good morning, friends! It s so great to see you today. I m so glad you ve come to the castle with me! We re going to learn about a very special king. He is the most mighty and awesome king. Who do you think it is? Yes! It s God! God loves us and cares about us and [Bottom Line] God s got it. So I m going to ask you this very important question: Who s got it? And I want you to say: [Bottom Line] God s got it. Let s try it. Who s got it? HISTORYTELLER: Great job! You guys are awesome! Let s sing our new song about our king who loves and cares for us so much, just like a good father. SFX: Good, Good Father What incredible singers you are! This is going to be a fantastic month! Introductory Sketch CG: Intro Sketch Video Bible History Lesson What You Need: Bible, a gold trophy, 7 Little People figures, HISTORYTELLER: Hey, friends! Today I have an awesome Bible Truth to tell you. And as you know, if it s in the Bible (hold up Bible) then it s TRUE! There once was a king named Nebuchadnezzar. That s a super long and crazy name. Can you say King Nebuchadnezzar with me? CHILDREN: King Nebuchadnezzar. HISTORYTELLER: Good job! thought he was the very best king there ever was and he wanted everyone to know it. One day the king had an idea. He would make a golden statue of himself. (Pull out the gold trophy and set it in front of you. Add Little People around it.) 2
Wow. Look at that golden statue of King Nebuchadnezzar. It s so gold and so tall! The king loved it so much that he placed it in the center of Babylon and he told the people that every time they heard the music play... (Nothing happens.) (Clear throat.) Ahem, every time they heard the music play... (Nothing happens.) I guess we need music. Can you help me? Get out your pretend flutes (demonstrate holding a flute) or trumpets (demonstrate) and when I say the word music, you play. Ready? Music! SFX: Flute and trumpet sounds Perfect! Okay, so the king ordered that every time the people heard the MUSIC... SFX: Flute and trumpet sounds... they should bow down and worship the statue. If anyone did NOT bow down, he king said he would throw them in the fire. So each day, the music played... SFX: Flute and trumpet sounds and each day everyone in the crowd bowed down to the statue (make all but three of the figures lay down on their faces) everyone except these guys. (Point to the three figures you ve left standing.) Their names were Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. They were friends of God and knew they shouldn t bow down to anyone but God. So, every day the music played... SFX: Flute and trumpet sounds... and every day everyone bowed down to the statue except Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. This did NOT make King Nebuchadnezzar very happy, so he ordered Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego to be thrown into the fire! But Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego didn t worry because they knew God was with them. And no matter what happened, He would be with them. So the king had Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego thrown into the fire. (Set the three figures off to the side.) 3
The fire was HOT! But God sent an angel to protect Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego! How cool is that? King Nebuchadnezzar was so surprised, he ordered them to be brought out from the fire. Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego, come out! they were told. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego walked out of the fire completely unhurt! From that day on, the king never made anyone bow down to the statue again, because he found out who s REALLY got this: the one TRUE God! What an amazing Bible Truth! [Bottom Line] God s got it. This is why we don t have to worry about anything, because we have a great big God who loves us and is always with us, just like he was with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in that hot fire.
