No. 23 November 7, 2018 Sunday Services, November 11, 2018 Worship services 8:30 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. Sunday School Classes for all ages 9:45 a.m. ANNUAL LORD S ACRE SERVICE IS SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 18 For over fifty years the family of Madison United Methodist Church has celebrated God s goodness with a service known as The Lord s Acre. Starting in the days when Madison was an agricultural community, our congregation began taking up a special offering at harvest time to be used for facility needs of our church, such as building expansion, major repairs, and debt reduction. This has enabled us to focus our regular budget on our ministry programs. The Lord s Acre collection will be used primarily for debt reduction on the new Education Building. We are blessed this year to have a very special Lord s Acre Day planned for SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 18th. We will receive a special offering during the morning worship services. That afternoon we will gather for a SERVICE OF THANKSGIVING at 5:30 P.M. in the Sanctuary. This will be followed by a COVERED DISH DINNER. The church will provide turkey, dressing, and beverages, and you bring a side dish and/or dessert of your choice. We invite you all to join us on this special day as we remember the past and anticipate the future. You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God (2 Corinthians 9:11). Madison UMC had partnered with MadCAAP to provide 1400 cans of creamed corn for their Thanksgiving boxes. So far, 729 cans have been delivered to MadCAAP. Your donation will help in making this Thanksgiving the best ever for 700 families & the elderly who live in poverty in Madison County. Please bring all items to the MadCAAP table in the Fellowship Hall by November 14.
