Next Sunday, November 18 Mindful Movement for Mental Health - Intergenerational class. Coffee at 8:45, class at 9 am. Learn to be fully present in God's presence by experiencing mindfulness (mindful awareness) through the five senses of taste, touch, smell, sound and sight. Each week we will look at one of the senses and how we connect to God and our emotions in a balanced way. This is suited to everyone ages 8-108 (or maturity level that can participate in these types of activities.) Let Lindsey Ecker know if you have questions or would like to participate so she knows how many materials to bring each week, 519-322- 8340 or lindseyecker@hotmail.com. 10 am Join us for worship as Pastor Alicia continues in the Gospel of Mark series with the sermon Back From the Dead. Church Life... Peace buttons are for sale in the foyer for $2 each. Theatre of the Beat is a Canadian touring theatre company commissioned by Mennonite Church Eastern Canada to create this play and take on tour to Mennonite churches! The play, #ChurchToo, will take place Tuesday, November 13 at 7 pm at NLUMC. Admission: freewill offering. Artfully depicted through a variety of scenes and relationships, #ChurchToo explores the struggle of wading into the realities of sexual assault and examines the difficulties of speaking out in a community where the topic of sex is often considered taboo. The play will be followed by a half hour of question and answer led by Theatre of the Beat. These social justice issues and how they intersect with our lives and our beliefs are very important conversations to have in safe surroundings. Worship Team meeting, Wednesday, November 14, 7:30 pm. NLUMC Float for Leamington Christmas Parade, Saturday, November 24. This year we will be featuring our Sunday School and are inviting interested Sunday School students to ride on our float, The Star of Wonder! Judy Koop will welcome you with a glow necklace to shine on board. Caroline Hamm will be leading the singing and activities. Lindsey Ecker will provide the nutritional snacks. Meet at the Highbury grading station on Sherk Street at 5:45 pm. The parade starts at 6 pm and finishes at the Leamington Fairgrounds. Parents reserve your child s spot by calling or emailing Susan Klassen, 519-326-7928 or office@nlumc.com. Caregiving Committee meeting, Tuesday, December 4 at 10 am. 2

Blue Christmas. Perhaps you're feeling blue this Christmas season. It might be because of a loss of a loved one, a broken dream, or a significant disappointment. Maybe you are far away from family and friends or are struggling with your mental or physical health. NLUMC pastors invite you to bring whatever might be heavy on your heart to our Blue Christmas Service on Thursday, December 13 from 7-8 pm. This is an opportunity for simple prayer and reflection in a contemplative style that's set apart from the usual festivities of the Christmas season. Goats for Kids! Our herd of goats continues to grow! For every $60 that we collect from our Sunday School collections, MCC can provide a goat to a struggling community to aid in improving the livelihood of the local people. We now have funds to provide 10 goats. Thanks for being generous! This project will continue until December 31. Goat trivia...goats are herbivores with four stomachs to digest their grassy, leafy food. They burp a lot! Cookies & Coffee Calling all bakers! During the Advent season we would like to add cookies to our coffee time after church. We need about 10 dozen cookies for each Sunday during Advent December 2, 9, 16 and 23. If you can provide some or all of the cookies needed for a particular Sunday, please sign up with Debbie Srigley. Cookies can be dropped off in the kitchen before worship. Looking forward to tasting everyone s delicious baking! Sunday School Christmas Eve concert rehearsals are now in full swing and regular attendance of the Sunday School students would be appreciated for our performance to run smoothly. Parents are invited to enjoy a coffee after Sunday morning services in order to give enough time for concert rehearsal and lessons. We will be having our dress rehearsal on Sunday, December 23 right after the church service. A pizza lunch will be provided. Thank you for your help! We look forward to Christmas Eve. Budget Update, December 1, 2017 November 7, 2018 (93.7% of year) $257,313.05 (85.8%) of our $299,700 unified church budget has been donated.
