CHURCH BUS COMMITTEE NEWS: Our first bus is now in the parking lot and approaching Ready to Use status!! In preparation we are organizing some classes for you to obtain your Commercial Drivers License (CDL). A 30-minute info session will be held on Wednesday, May 3, at 7:30 pm in the Yokefellow Classroom. I will have hard copies of the CDL Manual, a testing schedule and information on practice driving dates, times and locations. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU PLAN TO ATTEND, so I have the correct number of manuals. These manuals are also available on line if you prefer- but please let me know if you will be attending AND IF YOU WANT A HARD COPY OF THE MANUAL. We will have a practice test session on Wednesday, May 17, at 7:30 pm in the Yokefellow Classroom. So come and join us or send a member of your group so our bus will be ready to roll!! Lewisville United Methodist Women s Friendship Tea All mothers, daughters, aunts, cousins, sisters, and friends are invited to save the date for the LUMW FRIENDSHIP TEA. This highly anticipated event will take place on Sunday, May 21, at 3:00 pm in the Fellowship Hall. Come and share a spot of tea and light tea refreshments. You can join in the fun by reserving a table that you decorate (centerpiece and tea place settings). You will be amazed at the beautiful displays of traditional and whimsy table decorations. You will laugh and share in the moment of fun and inspiration. School age daughters are welcomed to attend. Child care will not be provided. Reverend Laura Auten, District Superintendent of the Uwharrie District will be our guest speaker. She will share a message to enlighten and challenge us on friendship. Reverend Auten is our own Reverend Susan s sister! The cost for the table reservation is $100.00 for 8 seats. If you are unable to reserve a table, but would like to come, individual tickets will be $15.00. All proceeds will benefit United Methodist Women Missions and the Church Parlor Restoration. THE SHEPHERD S CENTER PRESENTS SPRING LIFE-LONG LEARNING SERIES, a wonderful learning and fellowship opportunity for those over age 50. The Spring Adventures in Learning education series will be held Tuesday through Thursday, April 25, 26 and 27, at Ardmore United Methodist Church, 630 S. Hawthorne Road beginning at 8:30 a.m. The series includes six exciting morning course selections, a luncheon option focused on advocacy issues facing older adults as well as three stimulating afternoon course options. The cost for the full series is $20 for members and volunteers; $25 for non-members. First time participants in the life-long learning series can participate at no cost except for the cost of lunch (if requested) and course supplies. Lunch is available for an additional fee.
