PRELUDE/GATHERING MUSIC WELCOME/ANNOUNCEMENTS *INVOCATION IN SONG Your Grace is Enough (see insert) *PASSING OF THE PEACE OF CHRIST SPECIAL MUSIC In Christ Alone (My hope is found) Getty/Townend/arr. Kirkland CHILDREN S MESSAGE: MYSTERY BOX CALL TO RECONCILIATION One: Revitalizing God, your power goes far beyond our own, and still we act as though the pains of this world have final claim upon us. We give in to the despair and hopelessness, not trusting in your ability to call forth new life from the brokenness that we dwell in. Forgive us for doubting your power to raise up new life in the midst of all the grief that we experience. Forgive us for wanting to limit you to the last day or the world beyond this one, not trusting you to move and act among us, within us, through us right now, in this life. As we offer up our silent prayers of confession, open our eyes to the wonder of new life sprouting into being among us. SILENT PRAYER OF CONFESSION ASSURANCE OF GOD S LOVING PARDON One: Jesus calls us into new life; his word unbinds us from the weight of our past and removes those things that close us off from love. We are made free in the spirit of God, and forgiven all our sins. RESPONSE OF PRAISE (remain seated) Majesty Blue Song Book p. 42 2

PRAYER OF THE DAY: Eileen Scion (Lay Reader) God of consolation and compassion, pour out your Spirit upon us, that we may face our days with the hope of resurrection and faith in the One who calls us to new life. Amen. SCRIPTURE READING: Eileen Scion (Lay Reader) Hebrew scripture Psalm 130 New Testament reading Romans 8:6-11 One: God is still speaking. All: Thanks be to God. REFLECTION ON THE SCRIPTURE: Pastor Don SHARING OF JOYS AND CONCERNS CALL TO OFFERING: Eileen Scion (Lay Reader) In the season of Lent, we awake from sleep at the sound of Jesus voice; we have a new life before us a resurrection life not meant to be hoarded, but to be shared. As people who have responded to the call of Christ, we live in a state of thanksgiving for all that has been and hope for what is to be. We have been given a gift that is meant for all. So let us make our offerings at this altar, and pray that the spirit of God may breathe upon all of creation. OFFERTORY *THE DOXOLOGY Give thanks with a grateful heart Give thanks to the Holy One Give thanks because He's given Jesus Christ, His Son (2x) And now let the weak say, "I am strong" Let the poor say, "I am rich Because of what the Lord has done for us" (x2) Give thanks. 3
