We are a jack of all trades sort of person. Each day, we are invited to participate in various ministries and activities. We can spend a lot of time and energy in one area, then not see those people for a long time. Yet, when called upon, we are ready to help and be part of whatever is needed. I am surprised how many situations I can take part in daily; from a church fight, to an anniversary service, to an ordination council in one day. Each Association will have different needs and requirements, but I have listed some of the things we do that is true across all our Associations. The DOM s ministry verse is 2 Corinthians 11:28 NKJV Besides the other things, what comes upon me daily: my deep concern for all the churches. Promotes fellowship with like-minded Believers and congregations. Assists congregations to plant new churches. Counsels pastors that are thinking about their retirement. Find and assist in resources for block party evangelism. Moderate business meetings, if necessary. Mediate Baptist parties in disputes when necessary. Linking churches from outside our area to churches in our association. Provide training for pastors, and church leadership. Connect refugees and migrants to proper relief agencies. Connect legal services that are needed in church life. Advance church growth, church health, and discipleship. Strategize evangelism and church planting throughout our area. Liaison to all Southern Baptist ministries and the Florida Baptist Convention. Provide support for campus ministries. Provide guidance in senior adult ministries. Help in ordination services for deacons as well as pastors. Inform on denominational events policy, and procedures. Counsel church leaders and pastors in personal as well as church situations. Advocate doctrinal integrity, and pastoral integrity. Perform pastoral duties, such as weddings and funerals. Intervene to help resolve church emergencies and crises. Provide aid and leadership for Disaster Relief ministries. Assist and promote in Scripture Distribution. Help churches operate after-school ministries. Advance the ministry operations of the Florida Baptist Children s Homes. Help with local demographic analysis. Provide mission training and mission partnerships. Make available opportunities for prayer walks and community prayer events. Coordinate mission trips from our area. Supervise or manage associational staff. Promote and give leadership for the Baptist Colleges and Seminaries. Assist churches with finding and providing pulpit supply. Be available for pulpit supply ourselves. Advising Pastor Search endeavors. Helping churches to write by-laws and policies. Provide a central office for Baptist entities in our area. Keep records on Baptist work in our area. Sponsor camps, rallies, and other like-minded events. Assist in Bible studies, mission education, and other seminars. Provide assistance for Dental treatment through our Dental Unit.
