THIRTY SECOND SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME Stewardship, A Way of Life Tithing God s Plan for Giving Biblically a tithe means 10%. All are asked to consider tithing and return 10% of our income to the Lord (5% to the parish, 5% to your favorite charity). The spiritual practice of tithing disposes us to make God first in every area of our lives! The aim is to secure not the tithe, but the tither, not the gift, but the giver for God! NOVEMBER 4, 2018 Currently, we have 1824 households In Pew Collection $24, 051.73 (from 384 Households) Loose Cash $ 1,210.00 Online Giving $ 2,989.00 (from 48 users) Total Collection $28,250.73 NOVEMBER 5, 2017 $24,578.00 Jesus gets right to the point we are all called to give money to support the mission of the Church, regardless of our circumstance. No gift is too small or insignificant! Giving money to support the mission of our local parish is a matter of our faith, just like praying and participating in parish ministries. When you make a financial offering, is it from your first fruits or from what is left over? The Saint Francis Soup Kitchen collection for September and October amounted to $7,208.00 ($50,623.00 to date) in cash donations. Thank you for your faithful support of this important apostolate. Peter s Pence Collection on Sept. 9, totaled $2,799.00. World Mission Sunday on October 21, totaled $3,949.50. THANK YOU FOR YOUR GENEROSITY CONCERNED ABOUT THE CLERGY MISCONDUCT ALLEGATIONS? The Pennsylvania Attorney General s Statewide Grand Jury Report has raised many questions about prior sexual abuse by priests and how those allegations were handled in the Diocese of Harrisburg. The Good Shepherd Pastoral Council is sponsoring a Prayer Service and Parish Town Hall Meeting for parishioners on November 15, 2018 at the Church of the Good Shepherd from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. This is an evening of prayer for healing and an opportunity to get information on the issues raised by the Grand Jury Report as well as answer questions about parishioner concerns. After prayer in the Church at 6:30 p.m. we will move to the Parish Hall where a panel will make remarks and answer parishioner questions. To ensure that we can provide parishioners complete answers to any questions they may have, we are asking parishioners to submit questions in advance. If you are a parishioner and have questions you would like addressed, please submit them to the Parish Office by November 12, 2018 or place them in one of the collection baskets at Mass.
