Page 3 WE WE ARE ARE THE THE CHURCH CHURCH TOGETHER TOGETHER Care Ministry CARE ministry occasionally take meals to members and friends of SBMC, when circumstances dictate that they could use a little help. This might be at a time of bereavement, convalescence, or just because! We could use more volunteers to prepare the meals. The way this works is you would get a call once or twice a year (as your schedule allows) requesting one or two meals. Delivery is optional and can be arranged if needed. Please consider adding your name to the list of volunteers; contact the church office at 743.6218 or email sbmc@sbmoravian.org. What does it mean to Walk in the Light. Mark your calendars for this upcoming event. A new dishwasher has been installed, the Popour Garden work has begun, with a new fence, clean-up and tilling already completed, and work to rebuild the roof over the music room and sacristy and enclose the eaves of the sanctuary has begun. The cost of these projects will exceed $50,000.00. If you want to support this work please make donations to the Legacy Fund. Missions Due to a wonderful response to serve, the New York mission team has received as many people as it can accommodate and provide service opportunities for. This is an annual outreach during the first or second week in November so please mark your calendars if you were unable to participate this year. For those of you who have committed to this year s service, please be reminded that we will be meeting Wednesday, October 9 and 23 at 7:30 pm for our final meetings. If you have any questions please feel free to contact Jill Kolodziej at 743.5858 or jillannk@charter.net. Loaves & Fishes October is the anniversary of the start of Loaves & Fishes. We started Loaves & Fishes in October of 2004 providing a meal on the first Friday of the month. L&F expanded to two meals a month and then to our current three meals per month. They are the 1st, 3rd, and 4th Fridays. Currently we provide 110 to 140 meals per time. L&F would not be able to survive without our dedicated staff of volunteers. I thank you all for making my work so much easier. We also are deeply indebted to the people who support us with donations of money and food, without the support of our donors we would cease to exist. Please call me, Gary Hollman, at 493.5318 if you have any questions or concerns. Yours in Christ Gary

Page 5 All Saints Sunday Memorial Service All Saints Sunday, in the traditional church calendar, provides the opportunity for the worshipping community to remember all persons of faith who have completed their walk in this life and now are in the immediate presence of their Lord. Sunday, November 3, has been designated as our All Saints Memorial Service. You are invited to remember family members, neighbors and friends with gratitude for their witness of faith and impact on our lives. Remembering is a gift from God, which has an appropriate place in worship; the grief we continue to experience from the loss of loved ones also finds appropriate expression in the worship setting. If there are people whom you would like to have remembered in the bulletin, please list those names below, tear off the sheet and drop it in the offering plate (or mail to the church office) by October 27. We hope you ll be present for this service, which brings smiles, tears, and always joy for the blessings we now have because of those who have gone before. Other expressions of remembrance, such as gifts to special church causes, would also be fitting for the day s celebration. *********************************************************************** "All Saints Sunday Remembrances November 3, 2013 Deadline for sign up is October 27 th Submitted by: Phone No. : Veteran s Recognition Sunday November 10th We pause to honor the Veterans of our congregation who have served or are serving their country through the United States Armed Forces, whether in peacetime or in war.
