NOVEMBER 2018 Palm View Print the newsletter of PALM VIEW FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH the Celebrating 60 years of God s faithfulness!...to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Ephesians 3:21 - for such a time as this - 41 Dear Church Family, It has been a month since my last Sunday as your pastor. I am so thankful and blessed that I had the privilege to serve here as the Pastor of Palm View First Baptist Church for more than 41 years. Thank you so much for the wonderful day and countless memories of September 30th, my last Sunday with you. Thank you especially for all of the kind gifts - far too many to even be able to thank each of you in person. Please know that I appreciate your continued kindness to me, far more than I deserve. When I am asked, How are you doing? My answer is literally, I feel like a fish out of water. Please pray that there will be an opportunity for an old 70 year old man to minister in Rome, Georgia. You are fortunate to have Brother Tom Winter as your Interim Pastor. There was a reason I asked him to preach for me the last three times I was unable to be with you on Sunday! I know there is a man that will be your pastor in the future. He will be God s man. Please support him and love him as you have me. Again, thank you for letting me be your pastor for what has been 60% of my life! May the Lord richly bless each and every one of you, and guide and direct you as you seek and serve Him. May we all persevere and finish well for His glory! Love, Pastor Larry Interim Pastor Tom Winter - 722-5688 Jeff Sheffield - 773-0048 PastorTom@Palmviewfirstbaptist.org Jsheff@earthlink.net 415 49th St E., Palmetto, FL 34221 * Office Hours 9-12 Mon, Wed - Friday * 941-722-5077 * palmviewfbc@frontier.com

DEACON OF THE MONTH KEITH DURRANCE - 932-2185 From Our Minister of Music & Education A WHOLE NOTE FROM BJ What an awesome experience it is to see some members of Palm View First Baptist stepping up to help renovate, reimagine, filling in service areas that are needed. Moving to the Fellowship Hall on Sunday Nights Live has brought new opportunities to be involved. MUSIC and DRAMA: Christmas is coming! Several events will be happening as we prepare for our annual musical celebration of Christ s birth - O Come Let Us Adore Him. Save the date - Sunday Night December 23rd. Its not too late to join rehearsals on Tuesday nights EPICS Senior Adults - FIRED UP and havin fun. Coming Friday, November 16th. THE G.A.P. Graduates and Professionals. There is a tremendous conspiracy in our world to siphon off your energy and commitment. Don t let Satan blow your light out. MISSIONS: Some people think you have done your duty to the Lord by attending a service on Sunday or Wednesday. Every day is the Lord s Day and we are expected to share Him with anyone we meet. Done that lately? Remember, don t just go to church...be the church. CONNECT...GROW...SERVE...GO! In Christ Alone Bro Jeff Welcome Rev. Tom Winter, Interim Pastor Rev. Tom Winter has enthusiastically, accepted the position of Interim Pastor here at Palm View. He graduated from Palmetto High School. He holds a Bachelor s Degree in Education from the University of South Florida. Pastor Tom attended New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He earned two Master s degrees, one in Theology from Slidell Baptist Seminary and the other in Religious Education from Luther Rice Seminary. He and his wife Gail live in Palmetto and are parents of two grown children, a son Wade Edward and a daughter Hilary Denise. Pastor Tom was Ordained into the Gospel Ministry, February 13, 1994 by the First Baptist Church of Palmetto. According to our church history, on the Sunday before Thanksgiving in 1977 a tradition was started at Palm View that is still observed. An offering was taken for a building fund for our proposed new sanctuary. For many years this offering was used to reduce the debt from o u r new s a nct uary a nd remodeling. Be praying about what you will give toward this years offering as we work to restore and revitalize our buildings and property and seek God s guidance, direction, and will in calling a Pastor.
