Here s what s happening at Northside: Women s Prayer Breakfast Save the date: The Women s Prayer Breakfast is going to host a Christmas in October vendor show on October 21 at Northside. This is in lieu of a rummage sale. Vendors are already signing up! They will pay a small fee for a table to display their wares for sale. There will be snack food and a raffle. Vendors will donate a small item to be raffled off in gift bags. We will have quite an assortment of goods available for purchase. Please see Anne if you have a vendor in mind for this event. Here are just SOME of the vendors we have signed up: Book Folderer (Phil Daws-Lazar), Hoola Jewelry, Thistle Blossom Herbals, Thirty-one bags. Pampered Chef, Norwex (Amanda Kitchens) Music at NCC The regular music season ends June 18. To sign up for Special Music see the sign up sheet in the Narthex. People who sign up can receive free coaching and rehearsals with Kathryn AND the chance to play or sing in church! News of the People: Sheree Clark, MaryEllen Hagel and Anne Daws-Lazarattended the ABW Conference June 2-4 in Dewitt. Sheree was the chaplain. It was a lovely weekend - as it always is! For more see the Parish Nurse Notes below. If you have things to include here send them to the NCC email at northsidecommunitya2@gmail.com

The Garden Steve McTaggart has planted the garden. Stay tuned for progress reports. Kathryn Goodson Sunday, June 11, we celebrated Kathryn Goodson being at Northside Community Church for 20 years! The service featured music by Michael Hawes on trumpets of various kinds and singing, a solo by Glenn Perry, the Bell Choir and Chancel Choir, Paul Clark and Adam Guerriero playing a bell duet with related scripture between pieces. A reception followed in the fellowship hall. Kathryn was presented with a lovely Stuebben Crystal Paper weight.

Parish Nurse Notes, June 2017, Sheree Clark, RN You Gave Freely you have received, freely give. These words Jesus shared with the twelve Apostles as he sent them out in the Gospel of Matthew 10:8b. For the month of May, we had a table in our narthex here at Northside Community Church that quickly became full of what we all as a congregation freely gave to the people who will be recipients at Friendship House of Hamtramck. We filled that table up with 15 Birthday Party s in A Bag, 12 jars of peanut butter and 12 jars of jelly. Families in need come to Friendship House in Hamtramck and will be able to take home a Party in A Bag which has a cake mix, frosting in a tub, paper plates, napkins, candles, and a birthday card so a person can celebrate with a birthday party! Families can also take home peanut butter and jelly to make lunches for children who usually get their lunch at school. In the summer while school is out, these children may have to miss out on lunch. Getting lunch supplies at Friendship House prevents hunger for many children over the summer months. Northside Community Church collected these food stuffs and party bags for the American Baptist Women s Ministries mission project at the 2017 Annual Conference this year. Northside Community Church gave the most Birthday Party s in a Bag collected by the 20 churches represented at the Conference this year. The generosity of this congregation continues to be amazing and inspiring. As your representative for the American Baptist Women s Ministries, I asked. You responded generously. You gave cheerfully. You gave lovingly. Blessings, Sheree Fellowship We now have a cookie box in the Anderson room which is replenished (and emptied ) periodically. If you would like to bring cookies or something special for fellowship time after worship on Sunday mornings you can make a deposit to the box in the Anderson room and/or sign up in the narthex to do refreshments. You may also still donate money to go for cookies if you would prefer.
