Page 2 Second Thoughts From Your PC Dear Second Family and Friends, I want to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas? As we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior this Christmas season I wanted to reference the Incarnation and its meaning for you and I. John Witt, Jr states, In the Incarnation, God masterminds the announcement of the good news of the birth of Christ. He sends prophets well in advance to foretell the coming of the Messiah. He commissions an angel to announce the birth to a virgin. He sets a star in the heavens to summon wise men from the East. He sends a company of singing angels to pronounce Christ s birth to the shepherds in the fields. He quickens Anna the prophetess to declare the arrival of the Messiah on His day of circumcision. Though Christ was born in a lowly manger, there was nothing quiet about his birth. Joy to the world the Lord is come!!! Luke 2:38 (ESV) And coming up that that very hour she began to give thanks to God and to speak of Him to all who were waiting for the redemption of Jerusalem. As with Anna the prophetess in Luke 2:38, so we proclaim our redemption has come! Immanuel, God with us! May we, now and in this coming year give thanks to God and proclaim, our redemption has come. Please take this time to review the budget, pray over it, & ask questions. You can direct questions to any of our Budget & Finance Committee members (Gerald Roberts, Jerry Walker, Butch Copeland, Maria Romero, Kay Barcak), Treasurer Wanda Whitworth, or Administrator Gabe Duron. A reminder for Line Item Stewards & Ministry Team Leaders: If you are planning a fundraiser, Bible Study, or other event where money will received by the church, please contact Financial Secretary Joe Marek or Pastor Gabe at the church office to let us know about your event. During this time, all ministry expenses require pre-approval from the Budget & Finance Committee. What is biblical counseling? It is nothing more than intense one-on-one discipleship. It s been called transformational one-another ministry. Do you struggle with depression? Bitterness? Anger? Marriage issues? Do you know someone who does? We have nine counselors in our church that have been trained to lead this intense discipleship through the use of the sufficient Word of God, which has the answers for all of the issues in our lives. The Biblical Counseling Center is now accepting counselees, If you are interested in receiving counseling or know someone who is visit the church website at www.yoursecondfamily.org and click on the Counseling tab to complete the necessary forms and find more information.
