Test of Doing

My dearly loved brothers, understand this: Everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger, for man s anger does not accomplish God s righteousness. James 1:19-20 (HCSB)

Therefore, ridding yourselves of all moral filth and evil, humbly receive the implanted word, which is able to save you. But be doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. Because if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man looking at his own face in a mirror. For he looks at himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. James 1:21-24

But the one who looks intently into the perfect law of freedom and perseveres in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but one who does good works this person will be blessed in what he does. If anyone thinks he is religious without controlling his tongue, then his religion is useless and he deceives himself. James 1:25-26 (HCSB)

Pure and undefiled religion before our God and Father is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself unstained by the world. James 1:27 (HCSB)

My dearly loved brothers, understand this: Everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger, for man s anger does not accomplish God s righteousness. - James 1:19-21(HCSB)

But now you must also put away all the following: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and filthy language from your mouth. - Col. 3:8 (HCSB)

You took off your former way of life, the old self that is corrupted by deceitful desires - Eph. 4:22 (HCSB)

The instruction of the Lord is perfect, renewing one s life; the testimony of the Lord is trustworthy, making the inexperienced wise. The precepts of the Lord are right, making the heart glad; the command of the Lord is radiant, making the eyes light up. Psalm 19:7-8 (HCSB)

The righteous thrive like a palm tree and grow like a cedar tree in Lebanon. Planted in the house of the Lord, they thrive in the courts of our God. Psalm 92:12-13 (HCSB)

the ordinances of the Lord are reliable and altogether righteous. They are more desirable than gold than an abundance of pure gold; and sweeter than honey, which comes from the honeycomb. In addition, Your servant is warned by them; there is great reward in keeping them. Psalm 19:9b-11 (HCSB)

Therefore, everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them will be like a sensible man who built his house on the rock. Matt. 7:24 (HCSB)

Pure and undefiled religion before our God and Father is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself unstained by the world. - James 1:27 (HCSB)

When you spread out your hands, I will hide My eyes from you; Even though you make many prayers, I will not hear. Your hands are full of blood. Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; Put away the evil of your doings from before My eyes. Cease to do evil, Learn to do good; Seek justice, Rebuke the oppressor; Defend the fatherless, Plead for the widow. - Isaiah 1:15-17 (NKJV)

Pure and undefiled religion before our God and Father is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself unstained by the world. - James 1:27 (HCSB) We all detest hypocrisy and empty show is just the worst But blaming religion for contradiction Is like staring at death and blaming the hearse.

Pure and undefiled religion before our God and Father is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself unstained by the world. - James 1:27 (HCSB) whoever wishes to become great among you shall be your servant; and whoever wishes to be first among you shall be slave of all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many. - Mark 10:43-45 (NASB)
