Faith News Volume 19, Issue 5 May 2016 Faith Lutheran Church PO Box 175 Wolverton, MN 56594 (218) 995-2556 faith@wtc-mail.net www.faithwolverton.org Rev. Clay Ellingson, Pastor 1303 24th Avenue S. Moorhead, MN 56560 (218) 233-3941 It is the mission of Faith Lutheran Church: To gather prayerfully as the Body of Christ; To grow in faith, love, and service; To go into the world joyfully as disciples. Sunday School, 9:00 a.m. Sunday Worship 10:00 a.m. Holy Communion on the first and third Sunday of the month. May Food Pantry Item: Powdered Beverages From Our Pastor- Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ; During the Lenten season we spent some time talking about the trip I had made to Israel and Palestine in 2015. We watched a video that highlighted some of the more predominate Biblical sights. As I travelled in the land of the Bible I was so moved by the experience that I decided I would make an attempt to lead a group back to tour the country. So I am in the process of putting a trip together for 2017. On page 2 and 3 you will see the proposed itinerary. I am still working with a travel agency, Seminars International, to put the trip together. But the final details should be in place in the next month or so. I would invite all Faith Lutheran members to peruse the itinerary and think about participating. There will be people outside of Faith Lutheran on the trip, and I would encourage you to think about people you might invite along as well. Please give me a call if you have questions about the trip. I am in the process of putting together a meeting in June once final plans are in place, where we can have some discussion and address any questions or concerns that people may have about the trip. Peace, Pastor Ellingson Faith Lutheran Scholarships Available FLC has two scholarship opportunities for students attending college or trade school. The Memorial Scholarship is open to all members or a blood relative of a current or former member of FLC. This scholarship is awarded one time per student. The Endowment Scholarship is open to all confirmed members of FLC. This scholarship is renewable each year the student is enrolled in college up to four years. For each of these scholarships, there is no limit to the number of scholarships awarded. The amount of the scholarship will depend on the number of scholarships granted. FLC encourages all college students that haven't previously applied for the scholarships to do so as long as they will be attending school in the 2016/17 academic year. The deadline is June 15, 2016. Applications are available at www.faithwolverton.org and in the church office.
