American Legion Post 80 June 1, 2016 Issue 6 of 12 1019 Pennsylvania Ave., St. Cloud, FL 34769 407-892-8808 Website: AmericanLegionPost80fl.org Commander s Newsletter Hi Everyone! I would like to thank everyone who participated and helped at last month s District Constitutional Conference. The conference was held at our very own Post 80 which was a wonderful success. Everyone enjoyed themselves. I would like to thank Judy and Rita for the lunch they offered to the District members at the conference. Flag Day is June 14th, Post 80 will be holding our annual Flag Retirement Ceremony on June 11 th. It will begin at 9am. Bring your family and friends and help us retire our Nation s tattered flags. The State annual American Legion Convention will be from June 16 th through the 19 th. Information can be found at websites alalfl.org or floridalegion.org. For God and Country, Gary Nelson Commander, Post 80 Chaplain s Corner Greetings fellow Veterans: A good number of people are aware of the biblical account of the father and the clay. Jeremiah 18:4 states and the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter; so he made it again into another vessel as it seemed good to the potter to make The Lord is the potter and we are the clay, consequently He has the right to mold and shape, or trim, bend or scrape us in any way He sees fit to help us become what He wants us to be. Like the above vessel we are marred by sin and until we are cleansed by His blood we remain marred. Remember, it does not matter how the vessel became marred, just because the vessel was marred, it never left the potter s hand. If you belong to Christ, He will never let you go even if He needs to discipline us because He does discipline those He loves. He wants to be your potter. Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; all things have passed away; behold all things have become new. (2 Cor. 5:17) God Bless you. SDG For God and Country, Dave Nigh Chaplain, Post 80 407-922-2409 Father s Day June 19th
