Prelude Welcome (Thank you for filling out the Friendship Pad and passing it down the row today) Video Opening Prayer Song - Who Am I Litany of Praise: We meet in the strong name of our God; We praise you, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Praise the LORD, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name; Praise the LORD, my soul, and forget not all his benefits - Who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, Who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, The LORD is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love. He does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far as he has removed our transgressions from us. As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him. Amen. Prayer of the Day: LORD God, in your great love for each of us, you bless us beyond our dreams and expectations. You pour out grace and mercy in Jesus name and promise us abundant and eternal life. Lesson - Genesis 12:1-3 1 The LORD had said to Abram, Go from your country, your people and your father s household to the land I will show you. 2 I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. 3 I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you. Gospel - John 6:1-14 1 Some time after this, Jesus crossed to the far shore of the Sea of Galilee (that is, the Sea of Tiberias), 2 and a great crowd of people followed him because they saw the signs he had performed by healing the sick. 3 Then Jesus went up on a mountainside and sat down with his disciples. 4 The Jewish Passover Festival was near. 5 When Jesus looked up and saw a great crowd coming toward him, he said to Philip, Where shall we buy bread for these people to eat? 6 He asked this only to test him, for he already had in mind what he was going to do. 7 Philip answered him, It would take more than half a year s wages to buy enough bread for each one to have a bite! 8 Another of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter s brother, spoke up, 9 Here is a boy with five small barley loaves and two small fish, but how far will they go among so many? 10 Jesus said, Have the people sit down. There was plenty of grass in that place, and they sat down (about five thousand men were there). 11 Jesus then took the loaves, gave thanks, and distributed to those who were seated as much as they wanted. He did the same with the fish. 12 When they had all had enough to eat, he said to his disciples, Gather the pieces that are left over. Let nothing be wasted. 13 So they gathered them and filled twelve baskets with the pieces of the five barley loaves left over by those who had eaten. 14 After the people saw the sign Jesus performed, they began to say, Surely this is the Prophet who is to come into the world. During this time of harvest and giving thanks for the blessings God supplies to us, we want to remember that some families in our own community don t have enough to eat. We want to help fill the Upper Des Moines food pantry. Non perishable food, paper products, and household supplies are needed. Please think of those families and bring your donations to the church to put in the baskets on the altar. We will pick up all the donations to take to Upper Des Moines on the Friday after Thanksgiving.

God promised Abraham that he would be blessed richly, and that through him, God would bless the entire world. To feed the masses, Jesus used the willingness of a young boy, who gave Jesus his five loaves and two fish. Jesus used his generous sharing to bless the masses. As we sing together, we praise God from whom all blessings flow... We are in the flow of blessings. We all have freely received from God s gracious hand, and God needs us to generously give to empower the work of eternity. - Pastor Lee Laaveg Dear Lord, We are committed to supporting Building Faith...Loving People.
