Please remember to silence your cell phone. RESOURCES FOR HEARING IMPAIRMENT Hearing assistance devices are available for those who have such need. Please see an usher for more information. UPCOMING EVENTS GRACE OFFERING 2018 During the month of August, we collect the Grace Offering: an offering that supports missions efforts several ways. In contributing, you choose to designate your offering to HBBC Missions, North Carolina Baptist Men, or to CBFNC Missions. The goal for Grace Offering is $15,000. You can give at www.hbbc.org/give. So far, $7,332 has been given. CHURCH-WIDE RETREAT: TODAY IS THE FINAL DAY TO REGISTER The registration deadline for the Churchwide Retreat has been extended! Your family is invited to join us October 12-14 at Caraway Conference Center for the churchwide retreat. The retreat is for all ages and will provide opportunities for worship, Bible Study, small groups, recreation, and fellowship across generations. More information about the retreat and details about how to register can be found online at www.hbbc.org/rooted. The absolute last day to register is today; we hope to see your family there! SACRED RHYTHMS FALL GROUPS FORMING We are excited to invite you to participate in a Sacred Rhythms small group beginning this fall. This material focuses on spiritual formation in small groups. Groups will consist of 8-12 members who meet together weekly for seven weeks. Each session is an hour and a half long and involves learning, discussions, and experiencing a spiritual practice while being guided by a facilitator and DVD. Groups will be formed based on times, days and locations that work best for leaders and members, and groups are open to HBBC members and non-members alike. If you are interested in joining a group, email Kristen Muse (kmuse@hbbc.org), and we will connect you with a group in the month of August. MEMBERSHIP MATTERS Have you recently joined HBBC or are you prayerfully considering becoming a member? Are you seeking more information about deepening your relationship with Christ? Do you desire more information about how to join the church or how to find a place of service? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you would be a perfect candidate for Membership Matters: a 5-week discussion group that deals with all of these issues. Susan Hailey, Betty Boyce and Nancy Graybeal serve as facilitators for the class. The class meets on Sunday mornings at 9:45 AM in Room 106, beginning September 9. Contact Scott Welborn in the church office (swelborn@hbbc.org) for details or to register. COMMUNITY FALL KICKOFF Join us as we kick off another exciting year of programs and ministries at HBBC! On Wednesday, September 5 from 5:00 until 7:30 we ll be celebrating with inflatables and pony rides for the kids, games for all ages, live swing music, and a ministry fair featuring church ministries and partner groups. Admission and all activities are free, so invite a friend! Food trucks will also be on site with delicious options for sale. We hope to see you there! MOVERS AND SHAKERS CHOIR The music ministry is starting a choir this fall for persons ages 55+. We begin rehearsals at 9:30 AM September 18, and we will meet on the 1st, 3rd and 4th Tuesdays each month. The 4th Tuesday will be an extended time to allow us to travel to care facilities or other places of ministry and return in time for the Movers and Shakers luncheon. If this is something you might be interested in, please contact Lisa Moxley at lmoxley@hbbc.org. Let s join our voices and Make a joyful noise unto the Lord!
