NORTH ROYALTON RECREATION BOARD MINUTES Tuesday, March 27 th, 2018 The Recreational Board meeting was held on March 27, 2018. The meeting was called to order at 6:00p.m. by Mr. Wells Present: Committee Members: Chair Russ Wells, Todd Althouse, Jason Swim, Paul Marnecheck; Recognized Clubs & Organizations: Craig Barbeck (NRBB), Dejana Cinquepalmi (NRCG); Non-recognized Clubs & Organizations: Paige Dapsis (YMCA), Mike Kinney (NRYF)(NRBA) Absent with Cause: Dr. John Kelly and Tony Santangelo APPROVAL OF MINUTES Motion to accept February meeting minutes by Mr. Marnecheck, Mr. Althouse 2 nd Motion carried REPORTS Recreation Department Jason Swim The pre-season field preparation is ongoing. The batting cage renovation is almost done. The wi-fi should finally be fixed at York Rd fields. The concession stand renovation at Heasley should be complete sometime next week. Mr. Swim went over the Sports Organization Requirements Document (see attached) that was discussed at last meeting. The Fishing derby will be on July 27th. School Board Dr. John Kelly Not present, no report Council Paul Marnecheck Mr. Marnecheck passed around a letter from Oakridge Estates Swim club asking for assistance from the city to fill the pool. OESC is paying Cleveland Water Department for the water. NORTH ROYALTON RECOGNIZED CLUBS: Baseball (NRBB): Craig Barbeck This is the last week of registration. There were 2 winners for find a sign. NRBB has locked in umpire rates for 2018 season. The 2017 financial audit is almost finished. Mr. Barbeck asked about exterior boxes for defibrillators. There was some discussion about possible sources. Soccer (NRSC): not present, no report Basketball (NRBA): Mike Kinney - Nothing to report. Season ended last month North Royalton Community Garden (NRCG): Dejana Cinquepalmi - NRCG moved the board replacement to April 7th. Garden cleanup moved to April 14th. They asked

2 HS students for help. The Eagle Scout pulled out for garden expansion project too big, so expansion on hold. Looking at options. NORTH ROYALTON NON-RECOGNIZED CLUBS: Football (NRYF): Mike Kinney - Mr. Kinney is the new football commissioner. Mr. Kinney asked about using Valley Vista for practices. Mr. Swim told him to send in the forms to city and schools. NRYF registration will open mid-april. YMCA: Paige Dapsis - The YMCA is starting spring basketball session. They have 300 kids registered so far. T-ball registration has begun. Mr. Demming has contacted the city about a 2 nd field for men s softball. There are more teams than last year. OLD BUSINESS NEW BUSINESS ADJOURNMENT Mr. Marnecheck moved to adjourn the meeting, 2 nd by Mr. Althouse. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 6:28pm. The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at 6:00pm.

I acknowledge or shall provide evidence upon request that the organization is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization, and yearly thereafter; X 2. Make accessible or provide upon request an approved copy of your bylaws and any amendments; X 3. Provide an approved registration form. Registration form should be submitted to the City Law Department 45 days in advance for review and approval. Registration forms shall include release language for the organization, City and School as well as indemnification and hold harmless language. All registration forms and releases shall be retained and maintained by the organization unless or until directed in writing by the City; X 4. Within 10 days of season ending, tender $5 per player to the City finance director; 5. I acknowledge or shall provide evidence upon request proof of insurance, naming the city and school as additional insured; 6. I acknowledge or shall provide upon request financial records to the City finance director annually, or as required by the City; 7. I acknowledge or shall provide evidence upon request that all Coaches, Assistants, members of their respective Boards, and employees 18-years and older have completed the following: Background Check

4 Concussion Law Lindsay s Law Abuse/Molestation Training 8. President or other Board member must attend all Recreation Board meetings; 9. Provide any report or other documents as required by Recreation Director and/or Recreation Board. All documentation referenced above shall be submitted to the Recreation Director in a timely matter, unless a request for extension of time is granted by the Recreation Director. Failure to comply with any of the above stated conditions shall result in the organization losing its recognized status, including but not limited to the organization s use of any city recreational property and/or equipment.
