JĀMI A AHMADIYYA CANADA I Shall Give Precedence to My Faith Over All Worldy Affairs"
Jāmi a Ahmadiyya Canada The coming of the Promised Messiah as in the age of publication and propagation was inevitable for the promised victory of Islam. To fulfill this mission, the Promised Messiah as called on people to devote their lives for Islam and the acquisition of religious knowledge. The following verse of the Holy Quran commands the believers: It is not possible for the believers to go forth altogether. Why, then, does not a party from every section of them go forth that they may become well versed in religion, and that they may warn their people when they return to them, so that they may guard against evil? (9:122) Contemplating upon the above-mentioned verse, the Promised Messiah as concludes: meaning that there should be such people (among the believers) that ponder over religious matters. In other words, they should reflect on matters concerning the religion taught by the Holy Prophet sa and not just parroting without developing any habit of reflection or aptitude for pondering. The purpose that the Holy Prophet sa had envisioned could not be realized without inculcating the habit of reflection... Since every person cannot possibly possess the same aptitude, therefore, it has not been commanded that everyone should embark upon this. Rather, it has been stated that from among every segment of people (believers), there should be a group of such individuals who are ready to shoulder responsibilities of propagation and publication. (Tafseer Hadrat Masih Mau ud as, Surah Taubah, Verse 122) In order to fulfill this requirement, the Promised Messiah as founded Jāmi a Ahmadiyya (Ahmadiyya Institute of Islamic Studies) in 1906. This is an educational facility offering missionary training to selected members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. Student Missionaries are offered education and training through a comprehensive seven-year program comprising of study in Islamic Theology, languages, comparative study of religions and major religious scriptures. In addition, training in human relations and basic sciences is also an integral part of the curriculum. It is a life-time experience where social skills are refined. Thus I consider it my duty that I advise my community and convey this message. Henceforth, each person has the choice to listen to this or not to, that if anyone wants salvation and everlasting life, then he should devote his life for the sake of Allah. A Message from Hadrat Khalifatul Masih Vaa Let the students of Jāmi a Ahmadiyya always remember that after attaining the age of maturity, they have willingly offered themselves for Waqf in compliance with the promise made by their parents before Allah. Thus, throughout their lives, they must always faithfully abide by this response of Hadrat Ishmaelas when he said: You will find me if Allah pleases, steadfast in my faith. During the course of your education and during your life in the field of duty, you might encounter certain diffcult and taxing situations. By seeking the help of Allah, you have to set forth high standards of patience and devotion. Insha Allah!...... Remember that you have been enrolled in the distinctive spiritual army of the Messiah of Allah. The world has gone astray. It is YOU who have to gather them back under the banner of Allah and that of the Holy Prophet Muhammadsa so that they become aware of the purpose of their creation and prostrate before Him in humility. Remember that this task cannot be accomplished without the help of Allah. Therefore, implore and beseech the help of Allah by wetting the places of your prostrations with tears. May Allah always shower upon you His support, His assistance and His blessings. So may it be, O Allah! May Allah grant you that unique opportunity. May Allah always make the JĀMI A faculty and students aware of their responsibilities. Amen!
