Nead, Directing *Call to Worship and Lighting the Advent Wreath Men s Prayer Breakfast Reader: We light the candle of peace. The wolf shall live with the lamb, the leopard shall lie down with the kid, the calf and the lion and a little child shall lead them. Reader: The nursing child shall play over the hole of the serpent, and the weaned child shall put its hand on the adder's den. People: They will not hurt or destroy on all my holy mountain; for the earth will be full of the knowledge of the LORD as the waters cover the sea. All: In peace, let us worship God! *Hymn of Gathering #9 O Come, O Come, Emmanuel VENI EMMANUEL Prayer of Confession Betsy Koehler Most gracious and loving God, forgive us for our lack of imagination for what is possible. Remind us that peace, justice and love are not simply visions for a future time, but your requirements for today. Reveal to us our sinfulness and our brokenness. By your mercy and grace, forgive us, and help us to repent and walk in the way of Jesus, John the Baptist, and the prophets before him. May we overcome our resistance and fears, and live with open and loving hearts as we prepare the way for the Christ Child once again. We pray this in Christ's name and offer our own silent confessions... Assurance of Pardon *We Give Glory to God (holding hands) Glory be to the Father And to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost; As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, World without end, Amen, Amen.
