St. Andrew United Methodist Church Rev. Jeff Childress Welcome and Grace of Hospitality Special Mother s Day Music: Prayer for Mother s Day Phil Owens and Robin Owens *Bringing In the Light of Christ and Opening Praise *Call to Worship (responsively) King of all the earth, Creator of the universe, Holy Triune God, from everlasting to everlasting, you are Lord. Your law brings life, O Lord, and we meditate on it day and night. Happy are we when we walk in your ways, O Lord. You are a rich stream of living waters, and we immerse ourselves in you. Happy are we when we walk in your ways, O Lord. You bring forth fruit in due season and establish the work of our hands. Happy are we when we walk in your ways, O Lord. May 13, 2018 Seventh Sunday of Easter Who is like our God, the One whose ways are full of life? Happy are we when we walk in your ways, O Lord. This is our God, the Holy One. We come before God with thanksgiving and offer a sacrifice of praise. *Hymn No. 98 To God Be the Glory

Prayer of Approach Mysterious God, you reveal yourself in Jesus, your Beloved Son, who gives us a glimpse your glory and invites us to share in the unity of all that is Holy: the holiness that is You, your creation, your people, united in the Spirit that breaks through all boundaries of fear and injustice. Meet us here today and teach us to be one: One in love for each other, One in understanding with all who find in Jesus the Way to You, and One in peace with all who find other paths to your Truth. We ask all this in the name of Jesus, whose fervent prayer was ever: May they all be one. Amen. Tithes and Offerings *Doxology No. 95 (in unison) We believe in the Holy Spirit by whom Jesus still comes to us, calling us to follow him into an obedience which is true liberty, and to a humble service which is the fruit of holy friendship. We believe in the church as the fellowship of Christ s people, called to respect and support one another through joys and tribulations as we travel the road towards the promised land of God s future. Because Christ has called us, in this we truly believe. Amen. *Hymn No. 395 *Benediction *Closing Praise: (screen) Take Time to Be Holy As We Go Children s Moment Kara Graham Children ages 3 years 5 th grade may go to Children s Church. Please follow the adult leaders as they exit the door behind the piano. Choral Anthem You Raise Me Up Chancel Choir Soloist: Bill Brown *Gospel Lesson John 17: 6-19 Sermon The Lord s Prayer for Us! Rev. Jeff Childress Morning Prayer and Lord s Prayer *Please stand if you are able CCLI#1116193 *Affirmation of Faith This We Believe We believe in an innovative God, who does not wait for us to find ourselves, but comes seeking the lost and calling us into a new way.

May Mission This Week at St. Andrew May 13, 2018 - May 19, 2018 Sunday School Morning Worship (Happy Mother s Day) UMYF Sunday May 13th 9:30am 10:30am Cancelled Monday May 14th Bible Study Social Principles Kids for Christ Chancel Choir Wednesday May 16th Thursday May 17th 6:30pm 6:30pm 7:30pm Windswept Academy is a private, non-denominational Christian school, dedicated to providing students from the Cheyenne River Indian Reservation with a Christ-centered, quality, academic education in a Biblically directed learning environment. In addition to their challenging academic program, their curriculum also includes the history of music, art and a rigorous physical education program. In September 2017, they began their ninth year with 92 students ranging from kindergarten to tenth grade. Their mission is to prepare students for leadership and Christian service in their community and the world. Windswept is located in Eagle Butte, South Dakota, one of the poorest zip codes in the United States. The Lakota Indian children face hunger, abuse, and neglect on a daily basis. If they are not positively directed by the time they are in the third grade it is likely they will follow in their parents footsteps and turn to a life of drugs and alcohol abuse. July 15-21, 2018 I will be joining 19 other people on a mission trip to Windswept. Our mission will be to share the gospel and God s love with these children for 5 days. We plan on having Vacation Bible School, recreational activities, as well as many building and upkeep projects that the school needs. Please be in prayer for this trip, and consider giving to support the missionary efforts and Windswept Academy. Thank you for supporting missions locally and around the world.
