1 Performance Notes is a song of hope in the powerful resurrection of Jesus. A cantor sings the opening verse and may be joined by unison choir and assembly on the first refrain. The second verse and refrain are enhanced and reinforced by an accompanying SATB choir. In the final verse and refrain, the cantor is given the freedom to vocally improvise to add to the dynamics and joy of the piece. The primary melody of the refrain should remain prominent throughout the performance of this piece to encourage assembly participation. With its uplifting and gospel feel, is ideal as a closing song for the Easter Season or during Ordinary Time when the liturgy calls for themes of resurrection.
