From the desk of Father David Today as I passed through the car wash, I felt an incredible peace. I always feel at peace when I go through the automatic carwash, because in that short amount of time I don't call anyone and no one calls me. I can't do anything, but sit there and be in the present moment. I realize that what makes me most peaceful is that it forces me to be in the Present Moment. God s name is I AM and not I will be or I was! It is a great grace to be able to live in the present moment and realize that your very existence is God s continual embrace inviting you to be at peace in his arms. Rest in God alone, my soul. Best Ever! Our first Famous Fish Dinner is on March 3rd and it will be here before we know it!! St. Michael Church has a rich tradition of Fish Dinners dating back 60+ years! Our dinners are our main fundraiser and why we are able to give our church $25,000 every year! Your help with these dinners is extremely important! It would be a terrible shame to lose this tradition like so many other churches in our area have lost their dinners --so please sign up to help. We need 132 parishioners to have a smooth running, successful dinner. The first dinner is an all volunteer dinner there are no circle chair-people calling for volunteer workers. *High school students needing a service projects are welcome to sign up also -- there are plenty of spots open! The signup sheets for volunteer workers, salads and desserts for this dinner are in the back of the church. Thank you in advance for your help. With your support we can continue the tradition of our Famous Fish Dinners. We are still short chairpeople and need your help with our Pre-Fish Dinner Kitchen Cleaning. We will clean on Saturday, February 25 th starting at 8:00 AM. We would like to have close to 20 volunteers. If you have that morning free and could help, please sign up on the sheet in the back of the church. We would appreciate it. CORRECTED DATES!!! Soup Kitchen Volunteers needed for the following dates: Food Prep from 2-4 pm on Feb 20, 21 & 22. Food Servers from 5-6:30 pm on Feb 20. Television star Frank Runyeon, will bring Scripture to life as he performs his "Sermon on the Mount" on February 22, at 7:00 PM. Amid squeals of laughter, and an ocean of hands of eager volunteers, Frank guides the kids through selected riddles and stories from Scripture. All ages are welcome to this great event for families.
