Twentieth Sunday after Pentecost World Communion Sunday Family Worship October 7, 2018 10:00 A.M. White Prelude Ringing of the Bell Welcome and Informal Moments Introit Reflection by Greg Sewell Festive Processional by Greg Sewell *Call to Worship L: On this World Communion Sunday, we come and worship our God. P: We worship God with people around the world, regardless of our differences, longing to be one. L: We worship God, whom our ancestors celebrated and praised! P: We lift up joyful songs, joining a chorus which transcends time and space. L: We gather as the church that was, is, and will forever be Christ s Church. P: With joy, we come and worship! *Opening Hymn I Come with Joy No. 313 Unison Prayer of Confession and Lord s Prayer Most Merciful God, we confess that we do not always accept one another as your beloved children. At times, we use our thoughts, words, and deeds to enforce divisions among us. Forgive us for not living in unity. Forgive us for not accepting one another. Transform our hearts to long for you, for wholeness, and for uniting love in our world. We pray in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who taught us

to pray saying, Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen. Words of Assurance Scripture Mark 6:30-44 Becky Lenz, reader Time for Children (The children remain in worship with their families.) *Hymn Break Thou the Bread of Life No. 294 Joys and Concerns Pastoral Prayer and Silent Prayer Prayer Response Invitation to Offering Offertory Lyrisch Stück by Gustav Adolph Merkel *Doxology No. 44 Praise God from whom all blessings flow; Praise Him, all creatures here below; Praise Him above, ye heavenly host; Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
