WELCOME Welcome to Our Service of Worship at Knox! We extend a warm welcome to all who may be visiting with us this morning. Please know that visitors are welcome to participate in every part of our worship service. If you are visiting from near or from afar, thank you for finding your way to Knox. Together we seek God s grace; it is God who welcomes you. A nursery is available in Room 4 for children 0-3. There is a time of fun and learning for children 3-11 years in our Sunday school area after the Children s Hymn. Changing table is in the nursery. ANNOUNCEMENTS It is with sadness that we inform you of the passing of Pat Fougner on Friday, May 11th, 2018. Please keep Pat s husband, Ed, and their family and friends in your prayers as they grieve her passing. Pat s Celebration of Life will be Sunday, May 27 th at 2 pm at Rotary House in Qualicum Beach. Rotary House is on the corner of Fern and Beach at 211 Fern Rd West. Flowers have been placed in the sanctuary today by Marj Wilkie, in loving memory of her husband Herb. A lovely lace tablecloth has been donated. Thank you to one of our members from Martha Pow! WORSHIP AND ARTS HEALING SERVICE WITH COMMUNION - The Healing Team and Worship and Arts Team will be collaborating ministries to offer a monthly service of Comfort and Healing on the third Sunday of the month at 3:00 pm. This will be a beautiful service in which candle lighting, peaceful music, prayers, reflection, communion, anointing of oil and laying on of hands for healing will be offered. The next Comfort and Healing Service is May 20 th at 3 pm. Come away from the clutter and the chaos to find the quiet centre. Join us for an experience of healing and hope. SOCIAL JUSTICE AND OUTREACH PALESTINE - If you did not get a copy of the handouts on what we can do to help the Palestinians there are some available at the Outreach Bulletin Board. There are also 3 bottles of olive oil remaining. If you would like to purchase one contact Sallie Dabb at 250-752-7588 FUN, FAMILY & FRIENDS FOOD SAFE - Anyone interested in taking FOOD SAFE for the first time or updating your existing food safe (which needs be done if you do not have an expiration date on your existing certificate) may have the opportunity to do so by contacting Walter Sweet at 250-752-2255. A class is being offered at Qualicum Legion from 9:00am to 4:00pm on MAY 31st and the cost is $66.00. Assistance with cost maybe available. SISTERS UNITED - CATERED LUNCHEON Monday June 4th, in the Knox Lounge. Gathering at 11:30, lunch at 12 p.m. All women are invited to attend for a friendly social time, before the summer break. (No need to cook or bring your own dishes this time) The cost per person is $12.50 (in advance please). Marj Wilkie will be in the Narthex after church to sign you up. NEWCOMER S MEET AND GREET The second Sunday of every month is Newcomers Meet and Greet with Jennifer for a little one on one and to meet a few of the regular Knox folks. Grab your coffee after the service and head to rooms 1 & 2 to meet other folks that may be as new and as nervous as you are! The next meet and greet will be June 10th. TEA + COFFEE SERVERS ARE NEEDED after church on June 24 and July 1 and 15. Could YOU help to prepare and serve tea and coffee on any of these dates? STEWARDSHIP & FINANCE organworx - Sunday May 27, 2:00pm The final concert of our organworx series is proud to feature the Schooner Cove Singers, a new exciting professional chamber choir co-founded by choral conductor Dr. Elroy Friesen and organist Jenny Vincent. This chamber choir consists of some of the very best singers from Vancouver Island. Durufle s Requiem will be the highlight of the concert. The remainder of the concert will feature music by several Canadian composers.
