TRINITY REFORMED CHURCH SEPTEMBER 2016 connections In October of 2013 we began a ministry plan call Forward in Faith. Forward in Faith was a ministry vision which brought together the culmination of many conversations about the future direction of Trinity Church. Forward in Faith allowed us to accomplish several initiatives to improve our facility as well as a develop a new staff model for our future ministry together. All of the praying, planning and work continues to bear the fruit of God s blessing! The Consistory would like to celebrate all that we have been able to accomplish over the past three years, provide you some updates on all our progress and cast a vision for the future. You are invited to join us for worship and lunch on October 23 starting at 9:30am. It will be a great day of celebrating God s blessings through worship, fellowship and sharing together. A special lunch will be provided by the Consistory - you won t want to miss it! Mark your calendars for October 23!

2 On Sunday, August 14 I shared with the congregation the exciting opportunity that we have as a church to extend greater hospitality to our community through the addition of another worship service. The Consistory is in full support of taking this important step in our church s ministry. Our heart s desire is to reach others in our community with the message of God s amazing love in Jesus Christ. God has given us the Great Commission as our instructions and purpose as a church. Matthew 28:19-20 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. As a church we are committed to taking active steps toward fulfilling this Great Commission to the best of our ability with the resources God provides. We believe strongly that God is leading us at this time to take this important step in ministry. The following paragraphs lay out specifically what I shared on Aug. 14. A Call To Prayer: Consistory, along with the Worship Life Ministry team is inviting you to join with us in a season of prayer as we move forward with the development a second worship service here at Trinity Church. This exciting opportunity comes after many years of prayer and discernment and through the conviction of God s leading at this time. Our Greatest Responsibility to God: Is to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ in our community to as many people as possible. Our Heart s Desire: We believe God longs for his children to be in fellowship with Him. We believe God is calling us, as Trinity Church, to extend hospitality to reach others. Each of you have children, grand-children, neighbors, close friends and co-workers who are not engaged with God through worship and the wonderful community of support that a church can bring to one s life. Our Purpose: To connect with more people in our community through worship in order to engage them in a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ. Trinity s Mission Statement - God is calling Trinity church to be transformed into an outward missional focused church that advances the Good News of God s Kingdom into the lives of people in our community and beyond. Forward in Faith Goal: Implementing new worship opportunities that meet the particular spiritual needs of the unchurched population of our extended community. Please join with the Consistory as we intentionally pray and as we develop this new worship service. Pray also for people you may know that you can invite to join us in following God together. Blessings, Pastor Chris DeGraaf
