Disability Awareness Month The Feast of Christ The King November 22, 2015 Bible Month The N.Y.P.D. K-9 unit has asked that the parish cooperate in the training of their dogs by using the empty convent as a venue for training, of course, we are cooperating. BUSTED Local media intercepted a 911 response to Saint Barnabas church last Sunday evening. The call to 911 reported the discovery of a jihadist note in the pews. A story appeared in the Post with a picture of the front of our church. The Daily News declined to write a story. Two other notes were found the following days. With the cooperation of an eyewitness who saw a well dressed, middle aged white man making copies of the note, this individual was apprehended by both the NYPD and Yonkers Police on Tuesday evening. Cushman & Wakefield is the broker the parish has decided on to handle the deposition of our High School Convent. From this point forward all inquiries are referred to them. Join us for a Session on Sunday morning from 9-10:15am in the Considine Center. Pope Francis has announced an extraordinary jubilee year in his papal bull of indiction Misericordiae Vultus beginning on the feast of the Immaculate Conception. The time has come to take up the joyful call to mercy once again. The motto of the Holy Year, which will end on the Solemnity of Christ the King 2016, is Merciful like the Father. The essential parts of the jubilee will be pilgrimages, the spiritual and corporal works of mercy, the sacrament of penance and indulgencies. The Holy door of Mercy will be ceremoniously open in St. Peter s Basilica on December 8 th and all cathedrals throughout the world will ceremoniously open their great doors of mercy on the following Sunday, the 3 rd Sunday of Advent.
